Leah's POV
"Leah? Are you listening to me?" Keira asks me. We were on face time talking about how exciting this camp is gonna be and that if we win these next two matches we'll be qualified for the women's Euros of next year, which takes place on home soil, in England.
"Sorry Ke, yes, I'm all ears" I say to her, except I didn't actually catch anything she just said. I was just thinking about Olivia and how I'll miss her this camp since she didn't get the call up.
"Sure... what's on your mind?" Keira asks me
"Nothing really, just tired I guess"
"Okay... that's a lie but I'm not gonna push you if you don't wanna talk about it" she says sweetly.
"No, it's just that-" I sigh "It's just that I feel bad for Olivia because she didn't get the call up and I don't know" I say, Keira doesn't know what's going on between me and Liv, though I think everyone whose close to us, suspects something. I was doubting wether to tell her or not, I mean she's one of my closest friends and Olivia's too so I don't think there would be a problem.
"I think she deserves a spot, but you know, her position is a very competitive one. I mean there's a lot of good players that play in her role which makes it harder for her to be called up. But you know, I've seen her play sometimes and her vision it's something that our squad may need, but that's up to our coach." Keira says, and it surprised me a little bit as getting a compliment from Keira means that you really are good.
"Wow I'm gonna tell her that you just complimented her vision, she'll go wild, I mean THE Keira Walsh has just made a compliment." I say "But to be fair, Olivia's vision deserves it."
"Very funny" she says with irony. "But Leah is it just that you feel bad for going or is there something else?" Keira asks, should I tell her? I mean, she's close to both of us, I don't think Olivia would mind it, I'll tel her later.
"Well there is something more, but you can't tell anyone Keira, I swear if you say it to someone else I'm gonna-"
"I won't" Keira interrupts me
"You better not... but okay, so Olivia and me we've been best mates since you know... a lot of time. You better than anyone know what happened when she went to Germany and all that" Keira hums in response "Okay so when she came back to England we talked about everything and tried to reestablish our friendship, and we did, but-"
"you're together" Keira interrupts me.
"Keira let me finish"
"Sorry but I already knew what you were gonna say" she says
"Ugh... well then, yes it just felt like something more was there and we started to hang out more and we recently have put a label, well she put a label" I say
"Cute, doesn't surprise me to be honest" She says
"What do you mean by that?" I ask
"Leah, literally everyone knew that you two would end up together" she says "You two were inseparable, always looking for each other, you just realised it later than everyone who knows the two of you. I'm happy though for both of you, you're right for each other."
"thank you, but as I said we're keeping it in the low, I think only McCabe knows it as her and Liv have gotten really close." I say and in that moment I hear knock on the door which made me furrow my eyebrows.
"Who is it?" Keiras asks and I shrug my shoulders while standing up to go see who's outside.
As soon as I open the door a small smile appears on my lips. Olivia stood there with a bouquet of flowers.
