With all her remaining gut, she opened her mouth...and bit the unknown thing wrapped around her body. Hindi niya alam kung ano iyon, ngunit nadala siya ng takot at kagustuhang makawala. Kaya kinagat niya iyon at...nginuya dala ng matinding gutom.
Is this how it feels to starve? Ganito ba ang mga naghihirap na wala ng makain, samantalang ang iba'y nagwawaldas lamang na parang wala ng bukas? Ganito ba...ang pakiramdam ng taong mamamatay na sa gutom?
She...swallowed it as if it was a delicious food. And she took another bite again. She couldn't notice how she's being danced against the air anymore, ang gusto niya na lang ay kumain. Hindi niya alintana na nagwewelga na ang halimaw na kinakain niya. Sa isang iglap ay tumilapon siya palayo, ang halimaw na mismo ang tumapon sa kaniya.
She could feel the rage of the monster, nagsisigaw ito sa galit habang nginunguya niya at nilulunok ang parte ng katawan nito. Fresh blood rushed down her mouth... it tastes bad.
She took the chance, she ran away. Ngunit wala pang limang hakbang ay muli siyang nabinwit ng halimaw.
"How dare you eat a part of me!" Galit nitong saad, "You can't run away from me, child. I can smell your weakness and your bad past."
Sa sobrang galit ay idinamay na nito ang kaniyang nakaraan. Ito ba ang talento ng halimaw? Ang umamoy ng kahinaan at masamang nakaraan? Literal na siyang mahina, ano pa ang maaamoy nito?
"And you know what's great? Everytime I would mention your weaknesses, you'll have to suffer like hell. That's what I was made for, to make everyone who passed here suffer and never get back. In short, to kill them, and that includes you. You are my meal now."
But like a hungry psycho, Celestial just smirked and licked the unknown thing wrapping her body.
"I'm hungry too, let's eat each other!"
"Foolish!"
"Akala mo ba ikaw lang ang may kakayahang kumain? We're both hungry, you can swallow me but I'm still going to eat everything of you once I am inside your body--AAACCKK!" Ganoon na lamang namilog ang kaniyang mga mata sa sakit at gulat. Umagos ang sarili niyang dugo sa kaniyang bibig, pagkatapos ay mabilis niyang naramdaman ang paghugot ng patusok na bagay sa kaniyang tiyan.
"No! No!"
She was stabbed!
"AACCKKK!" And for another time, she felt her bone cracked. Inihampas siya nito sa lupa, narinig niya pa ang pagkabali ng kaniyang likod.
Nahugot niya ang kaniyang hininga, sandaling huminto ang kaniyang mundo. Tila siya nawala sa katinuan, wala s'yang maisip, wala siyang marinig, para siyang nasa isang malaking espasyo at tanging tuwid na linya lamang ang kaniyang naririnig.
"HUACCKK!" Then suddenly her consciousness returned, along with the awakening pain ravaging her weak body. Paulit-ulit siyang pinaghahampas ng halimaw, hanggang sa naging gulay na lamang siya sa mga kamay nito.
Ang nakapagtataka ay bakit hindi pa siya namamatay, wala na siyang magawa, halos wala na siyang buhay ngunit hindi pa siya patay.
"How dare you eat a part of me!" Paulit-ulit itong sigaw ng halimaw habang paulit-ulit ring inihahampas ang gulay niyang katawan sa lapag, "Now you can't die! Spit it out! Spit out my flesh and blood!"
Why? What's wrong? Why can't she die now? It's ridiculous, the monster is possessive...but a coward. Gusto lang nitong kumain ng kumain, ngunit takot din itong kainin. Perhaps, because the monster know how it is to be swallowed alive. Or worst, how it is to be eaten while being alive. The monster didn't found her weakness, she found its weakness...but then, she cannot do anything.
This feels like a battle between two crazy hungry guys.
"No! No! Give me back my flesh and blood! It's mine!"
She can't move, but she's conscious. And she don't understand a thing now. Nararamdaman niya ang sakit ng kaniyang katawan, mula sa pagkabali ng kaniyang mga buto, hanggang sa halos pagkabasag ng kaniyang bungo, ramdam niya iyon...ngunit bakit hindi siya namamatay?
"Die! Die! Die!"
She want to end this suffering, she's desperate to end this. At wala siyang alam na gagawin, wala siyang makitang pwede niyang magawa para makaligtas. Luray luray na s'ya, ang gumagana na lamang sa kaniya ay ang kaniyang isip...at bibig. Ano'ng pwede niyang magawa...gamit ang kaniyang bibig?
What's the use of mouth? What's the purpose of voice? To speak...to say something. Then what does speaking benefits her? What the hell would she say? She's still not dead, but she already want to end her suffering.
"Stop..." hindi na iyon malinaw, at siguradong hindi naman siya maiintindihan ng halimaw.
She can't stop it, she needs to fight! But how the hell? What could she do to survive? What's the purpose of mouth? If we connect brain and mouth...what would we say? Of course, we speak...we talk...we chant...we...
We chant.
What the fuck would she chant?
Out of nowhere, beyond the desperation to end her suffering, she managed to do what she has to do without even knowing if it would be successful or not. She wants to end everything...soonest.
So, she chanted;
"I call to thee,
celestial, firmaments or ethereal please listen to me,
I summon any of the summos to break this wall,
and let it be no more,
save this dying child,
and wake her up from this infernal damnation and malevolence..."
A blinding light appeared from nowhere, and after the dancing orbs scattering along the disappearance of the blinding light, Elysian's summo, the basilisk showed itself in its mythical form.
"You called?"
A small smile formed from Celestial's lips. She doesn't have to do anything now...she guess.
She closed her eyes, the heaven immediately sent its response. Mukhang mabubuhay pa siya. Tuluyan niyang naramdaman ang masakit niyang pagbagsak, at narinig niya ang labanang naganap sa pagitan ng halimaw at ng summo na tinawag niya.
Bago siya tuluyang nawalan ng malay, samu't saring tunog ang kaniyang narinig.
"She is a monster..." Iyon ang huling salitang lumabas sa bibig ng halimaw. Hindi nito tinukoy ang sarili, siya ang tinukoy nitong halimaw.
Pagkatapos ay pamilyar na tunog na ang kaniyang narinig.
"What the hell happened?"
"The monster has been killed."
"What? By who?"
"Only the kid...was found alive in there."
Tuluyan niyang narinig ang Matron at ilang opisyal sa ospital na papalapit sa kaniya.
"Leave her, do not mend her, let her body heal itself. I've heard she can heal herself, immunity at its finest, huh." Saad ng Matron, "Let her rest for a week, she is not exempted for the hiking."
She wanted to curse, she never got to see the features of the monster. But these people are the real monsters, merciless, inconsiderate.
"But madame, look at her! She's a mess!"
"We do not care! She'll be training if she's still alive tomorrow. If you find her dead, then bury her."
Just then before she lose her consciousness, a voice echoed in her ears, "A real monster...has been born."
