𝐎𝐌𝐘𝐑𝐈'𝐒 𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 #𝟎𝟐𝟔

𝐈 𝐒𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐍 my new room at Uncle Tony's house, drenched from head to toe. My clothes were soaked, and my hair was a mess. I really, really hate Eternity.

"Don't start getting in trouble just because you're not staying with my sister anymore," my uncle warned, glaring at me. I rolled my eyes. "I'm not," I muttered under my breath.

"Alexis should be on her way. Let her know if you're hungry or need anything." He closed the door before I could even respond.

I ended up moving in with my uncle Tony and his girlfriend since I felt trapped at my mothers house, always fighting for the tiniest bit of attention that seemed to go straight to my younger brother, Lamont. It drove me crazy, and I couldn't help but wonder if my mom even noticed me or if I was just an afterthought.

I was always envious of him. My aunt liked to call me a "get back child." Besides Lamont, I also have my older sister Layla. After my dad cheated on my mom and had my sister Alayna with another woman, my mom's main focus became getting revenge on Alayna's mother, creating me.

But that didn't work, and my dad kept cheating on her. I couldn't fathom why she stayed with him or why she even brought me into this world if she wasn't going to love me as she did my brother and sister.

So, in addition to that, I started acting out. I craved attention and sought it wherever I could find it—at school, online, or through creating drama.

It didn't matter if the attention was positive or negative, big or small; I just needed to feel noticed and acknowledged. I became desperate for any kind of recognition, even if it meant getting into trouble or causing a scene.

That's part of the reason I found such thrill in messing with Eternity.

Well, one part of it was that she seemed to have everything she wanted in life. She had people who genuinely loved her. I watched how her twin, Quincy, and Omyri adored her, and I longed for that kind of affection.

I have my friend, Davey, but it's not the same kind of affection. It's more like just having a friend I've known forever. But I wasn't going to let her go—she's really all I had besides my uncle.

I grew to despise my own behavior, but stopping wasn't an option. I couldn't. This was the only way I knew to get what I wanted, and I was determined to keep doing it.

A sudden knock on my door interrupted my thoughts. It had to be Alexis. "Come in," I called out. As the door opened, I took a good look at her face—it looked very familiar.
