Short Side Story Of The Prev Chapter

An early post since I have to tell you all that I have exams in two weeks, or a week.

I won't be able to update for a while so I will put this on a short hiatus I guess.

"Oy.. Light. Let me down already."

"Why should I? You might try to attack me again."

"Tsk- I promise I won't."

Adam clicked his tounge in annoyance as his body is being carried by Light in a princess carry style.

Why is he being carried like this?

Well, because Light doesn't want to give Adam any chance to escape.

This style is easier to carry him around and also make it easy for Light to restrict Adam's movement.

"Just wait a little longer. We're almost at my room."

"Out of all place you can choose, you chose your own palace. Very nice."

The hint of sarcasm in Adam's voice didn't go unnoticed by Light, but the latter one decide to ignore it. For now.

Seeing Adam's grumpy face made Light wanted to... Bite his cheek. Is that normal?

Well, he's always been quite sadistic since he was a child, so he guess it's normal he wanted to atleast see his only friend in the tiniest bit of pain- nope, he's crazy.

Plap!

Light slap himself in the face hard using a shadow like tentacle before continue to walk forward like nothing happened.

Adam, who was surprised by the sudden self-harm, look at Light as if he's crazy.

It's not like he can't read Light's mind- well, he can't, but he can hear small pieces from it-

'Only friend- pain..? What was he thinking about??'

He doesn't want to pry any further, he knew Light has always been crazy.

"Oh right, why did you threw Xaviour into the underground prison?"

"An annoying dog like him should be in there."

"He's a werewolf."

"Same thing."

Poor Xaviour, if he heard this, he would probably try to cut Light's tounge.

Or he might just throw a tantrum.
He's quite childish afterall.

Well, knowing that Xaviour is at the very least safe in the prison, Adam stop thinking about him.

After a few steps more, Light stop infront of a door and push it open with his magic.

Once inside, he carefully put Adam down on his bed before putting his hand on Adam's head and mess with his hair.

"What are you doing?"

"Messing your hair. Isn't it obvious?"

"What for?"

"For fun."

Hah.

A scoff left Adam's mouth but he didn't do anything to stop Light.

Light have always been like this anyway.

Even when it's not the right time, even while in a fight, Light would just randomly stop for a moment then mess with Adam before continuing what he previously do.

Yes, Light can be describe in one word.

"..menace.."

"What?"

"Nothing."

Light thought he heard Adam call him with his famous title. But well, if Adam said its nothing then it's probably nothing.

'He really trust me too much... What if I stab him in the back one day?'

After seeing Light not asking further about what he said, and even stop messing with his hair, Adam couldn't help but wonder if Light actually trust him unconditionally.

He really wanted to see how Light would react if he betray him one day...

Well, that's probably for the future.

Adam's top priority currently is to live a happy and peaceful life with his family and friends.

..Light included he suppose...

It's not like they're enemies.

"Adam!! Can you hear me?!"

Clang! Clack!

Xaviour continue shouting as loud as he can while struggling to break free from the chains bounding him to the wall of the cold prison.

'Damn it! Why is this place so far and deep under?!?! I need to warn Adam!'

He might saw it wrong, he might as well say that he's crazy for this, but-

He can't ignore how insane Light seem when he was restraining him(Xav).

The fact that Light, the one who people always call crazy, looks really ominous than usual..

That only means one thing.

'F**k! Please! Anyone! Please warn him!'

He need to warn Adam about Light's condition.

'He's going to 'snap' soon! '

The moment he- everyone, fear the most.

Is the moment when Light would finally snap out of all his restraints, the restriction he had placed on himself since long ago.

The world they might know- this place they call home, it might turn into a full battlefield where no peace nor a safe place can be found for the next 2 or 3 centuries if Light, the current maniacal Tyrant, snap.

"Forget everything that's burdening your mind and get some rest. I will be protecting you."

"Mm.. As if I can trust you with that.."

Despite his distrusting words, Adam couldn't help but close his eyes as he felt like his whole body is completely relax just by Light caressing his head.

Is this what it felt like being in complete peace...?

Adam couldn't fight his drowsiness despite his instincts telling him to stay awake.

"Wake me up in an hour.."

"I will."

Before Adam close his eyes, he sense an ominous feeling in his heart.

And the look in Light's eyes that doesn't sit well with him and somewhat look unhinged.

It's probably nothing.. Right?

Right when he strongly sense something is wrong, his eyes shut close by it self and he fall into a deep slumber....
