"Let's just go for The Conjuring. Heard it's as scary as shit." Swara said, nibbling on her noodles in the canteen.
"I hate scary movies." Suman made a face. "Seriously, I don't like those. They give me creeps."
"Scary movies are meant to give you creeps, Suman." I giggled. "You're definitely coming with us."
"No, I'm not." She rolled her eyes.
"Hey, it's based on a true story, you know." Sucheta, who was a horror movie fan, said philosophically. "There's this parapsychologist couple who solve a haunted case."
"Enough." Swara shouted. "Don't ruin it. The fun of watching it won't remain then."
"Alright, alright." Sucheta frowned. "I've researched about it. I'm gonna watch it for sure."
"But when are we going?" I asked.
"Tomorrow." Swara clapped her hands. "There's a show of 9 am at E-square."
"Ah, morning shows are always cheap." Sucheta joined in the clapping. "Let's go then tomorrow."
"But, right now I've studies to do." I yawned as took my backpack, waved them goodbye and headed for the reading hall.
I was a student of 12th Arts in Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce in Pune. It was an A grade college, but you would understand the actual crowd quality when you enter the premises. There were two separate mediums of the college- English and Marathi.
From these two mediums, the Marathi medium students, especially the boys had a weird type of dressing sense which they considered actually dashing. Like who the hell puts on rainbow colored shades and roam around the ground in broad daylight? And who the hell gives the girls creeps by wearing so many gold chains as if his life's depended on them?
Fortunately, the English medium students were decent and had a sophisticated dressing sense. Here, nobody had that sort fo clothing and nor did they speak harshly.
Swara Vaidya, Suman and Sucheta Singh were my close friends since the later half of 12th.
Being the unidentical twins, Suman and Sucheta had different interests and nature. Suman was talkative and gossiping about the other girls in the class while Sucheta was quiet, bookworm and music lover. But when it came to gossiping, both of them could win a prize on it. They actually kept names for people with various personalities.
Swara had a total smart mouth. She was the most blabbering and fun loving girl in the class. She had to interrupt in each and every topic.
Sometimes, I wondered that these are a few mental mutes I'm being with. How did I meet them in reality? I've always liked such company.
There were more people in the group with whom I became friends with in first year BA.
"Where have you been?" Nishi asked as I entered the reading hall.
"Canteen. We were planning to go for The Conjuring. Coming?" I asked.
"No way." She shrugged, digging in the geography textbook. "I don't like scary movies."
"You're such a scarecrow." I threw my pencil at her.
"Ouch! Look at it." She caught it. "Now let me study. We've a test day after tomorrow. Did you study for it?"
"Well, I guess, I'm starting it now."
Nishi Desai was a chubby, short heighted girl who was extremely studies. And to add cherry on top of the cake, she was the class topper, too. We always seeked academic help from her. She could just write the whole textbook by reading only once before.
"Hey, Rishika, we've got a geography practical tomorrow." Nishi spoke suddenly after half an hour of thorough reading.
"Huh?" I was under the influence of earthquake and floods when she called.
"I just got a text from Swara." She showed me the screen of her phone.
"What time?"
"Eleven." She said. "Your movie plan has to hang for tomorrow."
"We're going at 9. It'll get over by 11, I guess. Hollywood movies are not lengthy."
"Probably." She smiled. "You ready to go?"
"Yes." I placed my books in the backpack and got up from my seat.
As we were coming out of the reading hall, a tall guy passed us.
"He's hot." I giggled.
"Stop doing this." Nishi snorted. "You kniw that I don't like these things."
"Don't be a drama queen. I know you do." I winked as I punched her arm softly.
"Oh, come on, I know you've got so many crushes." She laughed. "Don't make me count them one by one."
"Nope." I smiled. "I don't really get that love of my life who I wanna be with. Everyone's so sick here."
"Choose someone who's not in this college. I guess Symbie will do."
Symbiosis College was the hottest college of Pune. Girls had boys had real style there. You get to see sizzling babes and Calvin Klein guys in Symbie, as youngsters call it.
"Uh huh!" I bit my lip. "Not my type."
"Then what type of a guy would you like to have?" She seemed confused.
"Well, an honest guy. Looks doesn't matter for me. But someone tall, strong and well behaved." I blushed. "Someone who might be waiting for me somewhere."
"Look who's talking." She patted my back. "Okay, so I'll get late if I don't rush for the bus."
"Sure. Go on. Will meet tomorrow in the practical, scarecrow." I giggled.
"Stop calling me a scarecrow." She showed her tongue. "Bye, Rishika. Gotta go."
