"Who was that guy you were talking to last day?" Nishi threw a questioning look in break. "He asked you for your number, too."
"Puneet Dubey. He's an external student. Ma'm told to give him my geography journal. He'll come tomorrow." I smiled.
"He's weird." Swara commented.
"How?" I sat on the outer pavilion.
"He seems to be very shy. He wasn't even looking at any of us while talking." She answered.
"It's okay." I mumbled. "Everyone's different."
"Hey, why are you being so defending towards him?" Nishi giggled.
"Shut up. I just said an universal truth, that's it." I snorted.
"So is he gonna come tomorrow?" Swara asked, taking her seat next to me.
"Yeah, he's coming." I blushed. "To take my journal. He'll take xerox of it and leave."
"Alright." She said and we didn't speak about him anymore.
In geography lecture, that day, Mrs. Annoying gave us another practical to complete in the journal. And somewhere inside me, I felt overloaded with joy as I wanted to meet Puneet by various excuses.
I took my phone out in History and texted him all of a sudden.
Hey, geo Ma'm has given another practical to complete. Do come tomorrow.
I smiled and placed my phone back in my pocket.
In between, I kept checking my phone for his reply. But there was none.
"What's there in your phone?" Nishi whispered as I checked it for the fifth time.
"Umm...it's updating. I mean, WhatsApp update is going on." I lied simply.
She didn't pay attention then and listened to the teacher patiently.
While coming home, I plugged in my headphones in bus and started listening to Miley Cyrus. She was one of my favorite then.
I had even forgotten that I had texted him when my phone vibrated.
Hi. Oh. Yes, I'll be coming tomorrow. At what time will u be there in college?
I smiled.
Come around 10. I'll be there.
Okay. What's up?
He actually wanted to chat.
Going home. In bus. U?
He replied a minute later.
Just came home after playing football.
Wow! He played football.
That's great. Was it a serious match?
Yes. And our team won!
He must be a good played then, I thought.
