The following morning, we had just returned from our fifteen mile jog with Tim, Peter, Lisa, and several of our security employees. The Porsche was here. The driver was waiting for us. Cindy turned off the alarm on the garage and opened the garage for the truck driver to back it inside the garage. Cindy and I inspected the vehicle for any damage. There was none. Cindy's name was on the invoice, and she dated and signed it. The man handed her a copy of the invoice before he left.
Peter and Lisa were the only ones who stayed and were in wow mode for the gift Alexa bought for her fiancée. Cindy closed the garage door and turned the alarm on when the four came in to have some tamales, rice beans, and sunny side eggs. Peter made them all coffee outside, and I had my cranberry juice and a glass of lactaid milk with my breakfast. The doorbell rang. I turned off the alarm while my wife answered it. Several of Jaime's friends who went to college with her came inside. They were excited about their upcoming graduation. We spoke to them as they wrote something on the card. They had already handed my wife cash. We told them we were excited to see them graduate. Some worked for Jake and Jaime. Others worked at other places. A few were still being interviewed in other states. We all wished the ones who had interviews good luck before they left. We finished our meal after they left.
Lisa and Peter did the cleaning." I can't believe how many people are still coming for her. Taylor and I watched the interview as we ate pizza from Julian's pizzeria last night with a salad and a couple of beers."
Peter asked us how we felt of them being successful in their careers. We both told him and Lisa we were very proud of them. We never imagined that when we decided to be their mentors on how much we would change their lives and ours. Lisa informed us that some of the trees came down last night and were now had the trees cut. She said wood was being delivered to all of the homes on the property as we always did. She said Baird and Bea picked up some for their home. We walked them out and said goodbye. Cindy turned the alarm on after I locked the door. We went upstairs to take a much needed shower. After we were changed and cleaned in swears, Cindy called Alexa, stating that more people showed up and the Porsche arrived. She told my wife she was aware. The dealership sent her a fax with Cindy's signature and today's date. She thanked Cindy. They ended their conversation. We had some wood inside and knew we had more outside covered up. We discussed going to California for a Christmas vacation. We already had as well as others rented several cabins. We missed Julia's family in California. Bea, Baird would be coming too to see their sons. Alice, Jake, and Tim would be coming as well. They would drive to Stockton to see Cole. Alice stopped by to bring us some banana bread and some vegetables she had cut up from our green house. She didn't want them to go to waste. She did mention that Cole was looking forward to seeing all three of them and finally accepted Tim as her boyfriend. She stayed a while to watch a movie with us. She states that Tim and Jake would be bringing some firewood to our home where we kept the extra firewood. She left and we decided to read a new book we had started. Our book shelves were full. We would choose our favorites and donate the rest to some local schools for their school libraries. We read several chapters before we made pizza and a salad. We used dough from Julian's pizzeria. The pizza came out well. Cindy cuts and serves us them on the plate. I made a mixed green salad with the vegetables Alice brought over earlier. We drank a beer and ate the pizza as we watched the afternoon local news. We cleaned up and left to go check on the property to see what trees or branches had come down. We took off in one of the golf carts with Cindy driving us. The trees that were now no longer were ones that were getting enough water. Cindy and I decided to have more pipes for water to get to those areas. We didn't want any tree not to get water. All the other years, we had enough rain. We met with a few employees and told them what we wanted. They said they go get the supplies and start digging tomorrow to begin installing the new pipes. We thanked them and left. We went to go see the goats, new kids, and our horses. Our trainer was breaking in a new horse. A few of our horses had died. We were replacing them a little at a time. Thorough breds weren't cheap, and training them wasn't easy. We left with the Porsche fob to take to Alexa's work. On the way there, we stopped to have some churros. We talked about upcoming company Christmas parties and the budgets. We had already written checks and mailed them to the local shelters and food bank. We finally finished our churros before we arrived in my Mercedes to Alexa's business and mine, too, since I was her silent partner. Alexa was just getting ready to leave when she saw us. Cindy had her the Porsche fobs plus the copy of the invoice. We knew Jaime would love her Porsche hybrid. She would save moneu on gas. We all walked out and said goodbye.
"Cindy, let's go shopping and buy as much as we can for Christmas today. The rest we can order online. We agreed that there were no gifts for one another. We need to abide by that this year. We are in good health and the time we spend together should be enough."
Cindy agreed as we stopped at the outlets to go buy gifts. I was glad I bought my suv. We ended up calling Lisa to bring her truck to help with what couldn't fit in my suv. She arrives as we are waiting in the parking lot. She gets out laughs at us.
" Did you two leave anything for others to purchase?" " Shut the fuck up and help Julia and I load these bags in your vehicle. By the way, we saw where the trees were once were. We are having more pipes to be in those areas tomorrow. If you see anything else that we didn't see, please let us know before the weather gets bad so we can address it. We already had all the trees by the houses and other buildings trimmed." " Will do Cindy. Let's get these packages bag to your place. "
We all got in the two vehicles and left back to our home. We had to stop by to get gas for both. Cindy and Lisa filled the gas tanks. Off we went.
