THE KEY TO MY HEART

We woke up late and got dressed in a sweater and jeans. We went downstairs after we were finished getting ready and she makes her bed. She turns off the crock pot and unplug it. She makes us cream of wheat and wheat toast with lagers cranberry juice. I noticed I have yet to see her drink coffee.  I think to myself she may not like coffee like me.
We finished and I empty the dishwasher and we place all dirty items in the dishwasher. We leave in my truck to go to Costco.  It's is raining again.  James calls her and she speaks with him.  She says he was with me. She ends the call.

" James is a fast at what he did for me. He would like us to go by to see the plans. If I like them,  he will submit them to get approved and the contractor can get a copy and begin ordering supplies etcetera. "

I make a slight detour and driving us to my sons business. Lance has been doing jobs in other states so he has been gone aslot. We finally arrive and get out. I lock my truck and we go inside.

" My name Silvia. James Ramirez is expecting us."  " Yes, please go to his office."

We make our way to my sons office. He is on his landline and doesn't see us. He has his chair facing the opposite direction.  I move towards him and kiss his cheek. He smiles and mouths give him a few minutes.  He turns and waves hello to Silvia and hands her the blue prints. We sit down to review it.

" He is good and did everything I asked if him." " My sons are good at what they do."

" I  am glad you like it. Ms. Sage, I had to modify some areas with the new codes."

He points them our. Silvia asks him to call her by his first name.  He says the same thing. He has her sign off on it.  We talk a little. I hug and kiss my son on his right cheek and he blushes still at his age. We  leave.

" Its cute he still blushes. He handles his mental health quite well. I did my homework on both of your sons before I agreed to do business with James."

" Yes, they take their medicine and do their labs and meet with their psychiatrist.  They have come a long way. Their bio mother was bio polar and very severe.  The girls have different mother. My youngest daughter had her issues to but bottomed out and got help. She is married to a supportive man and they have children. They live in another state."

I continue to drive and she talks about her older sister. She hasn't spoken to her parents since the blow out.  I feel bad for her because family is important to me. I don't get along with my sisters nor the lady who raised me. We park and get out with our umbrellas.  We go inside and show our cards and swipe them as they have a new policy  that supposedly protects us. We both have a cart and place our Costco card away. We go aisle by aisle. She is turned off by the Christmas decorations being out and we haven't had Thanksgiving yet. I tell her this year, we will have Thanksgiving at the Legacy Hotel instead of anyone's home. This say none of us have to cook and clean up.  We are done getting everything.  We are in line.  We finally get everything not heavy on the converyer belt. She hands the lady her car.  The other lady starts boxing everything. She orders two hot dogs.  She writes a check.  I guess she isn't up to cooking more today which I don't blame her. We pick up the food and her our two drinks and walk to add our condiments,  get napkins and straws.

" I hope you don't mind hot dogs for lunch.  With all we got,  it's going to take a while to unload it and put it away. I am still learning where you like your stuff. Let's sit here and enjoy our meal. I rather you didn't try to drive and eat." 
" I love their hotdogs.  Where can you get two hot dogs and drinks for a little over three dollars."

We seat down to enjoy our lunch.  I  tell her that I will pull my truck closer so we don't get soaked plus the cover on the truck will prevent the items getting wet which includes the box. We are done and I thank her.  She tells me I am welcome.  We get up to throw everything away. We push the carts  by an area that won't block traffic as much. I leave to get my truck.

My cellphone rings and it's my mother. I answer it. She asks me how life is going.  I tell her well. She asks for my new address which I give it to her. I tell her it has armed security and you have to be on a list that my roommates have to approve.  We make small talk.   We end our conversation.  Julia parks and we start loading everything up.  We get in and Julia asks me what is wrong.  I tell her my mother called to see how I am doing and wanted my address. I tell her that I told that my roommates have to approve who comes in on the property and the guards are armed.

" Silvia,  I am going to guess you don't want them visiting.  If you do,  I can add their names on the approval list." " It's not  necessary  but thank you. Once my sister hooked up with my fiance,  we have not seen eye to eye. I rather they call or write. I am a daddy's girl but even my father didn't say anything. My mother is the one who makes many of their decisions. My father was unfaithful and feels guilty about it."

I held her hand when I was at a red light.  I didn't say anything else.  I know families have their good and bad in them.  We finally started moving and I let go of her hand.

"Silvia, when we get back, our decorations will be up outside.  I still have to call to have people do the inside.  We really don't do much on our own anymore.  One of our garages has all our decorations in them. I know you said you don't like decorations up so early. This is something we do every year especially when we won't be home for Christmas.  We like to enjoy our decorations. "  " Julia its okay. I understand."

We talked more about our loved ones . The ones we get along with and the ones we don't and why. We finally are in the garage anf I turned off the alarm and unlocked the door.

" Wow,  your exterior decorations are gorgeous. Do you mind if I help you decorate inside instead of paying someone. We can have them remove everything.  I love decorating even though it's early in the season."

We are carrying the boxes in and placing the items away. I show her where we put things away. I tell her I don't mind. She asks me if Jake has his own place. I tell him the one house that is empty is getting worked on and he will be moving in there soon.

" Julia after we rest,  will you be interested in getting an Uber to a dealership so I can go buy a truck to pull my horse trailer. I wrecked my other truck. I didn't my ex did. I need another truck to pull my horse trailer.  Also we can use my RV and go on a trip to get away before Thanksgiving.  You can choose the place." 

I told her as we worked that I would ask one of our security employees to drive us to the dealership and yes on the rv. I would have to think about where.I knew I would want to do some fishing. We finished and placed all the boxes in the recycle trash outside.  I called Lisa and asked her to have one of the employees ready to take Silvia and I to a dealership.  She tells me they are busy and she will take us. I ask her to be here in fifteen minutes. She says okay. We end our conversation.

" Silvia our security is busy but Lisa will be here in fifteen minutes to drive us. She will need to know what dealership."

We use the restroom and outside.  It stopped raining.  Lisa pulls up.  Silvia tells me ford dealership.  We get into Lisa's suv and we say hello. She says hello. I tell her a Ford dealership. She asks which one. Silvia tells her the closest one and thanks her. Lisa doesn't say anything.  I can't tell her too because she is doing her job. The ride is very quiet.  We arrive. We both thank her.

" Silvia please go ahead. I will catch up with you."

Silvia gets out and closes the door.

" Lisa,  I  am truly sorry. I should of said something earlier.  I wasn't expecting you to come into my home without saying you would. You are not..."  " I was wrong. I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. Taylor and I talked about at length. We don't know anything about her. She was a porn star and had sex with many.  We don't want to get any STDS.  We don't know if she has anything. "
" Silvia do you really think that Cindy would of suggested I have sex with her if she did. She provided me recently,  her test results and all is negative.  I respect your decision.  We will miss our coitus time, but we are all adults. "

Lisa hugs me and kisses my neck before I get out of her vehicle.  I know what I said hasn't changed her mind but it needed to be said.  She asked me before I close the door if she wants her to wait. I tell her no. I close the door and she leaves. I make my way to Silvia.  She found the truck she wants. She is haggling now. I sit down and wait.
