THE KEY TO MY HEART

We woke up and took the airmattress, pillows,  sheets, and blankets to the third bedroom. We hurried up and took showers. We were dressed and downstairs. All of us pitched in to make pancakes, sausage, cut up fruit, placed cranberry juice, eggnog, and set the table. Julian, Liz, Peter,  Peters grown children and their spouses,  Lisa and Taylor Brook, the Nunez and Cabreras were coming for breakfast. Jaime was bringing coffee for her former mentor, my wife. Cindy turns off the alarm and unlocks the door when Peter rings the doorbell.
Everyone is arriving little by little. We laugh when Jaime hands Cindy her cup of coffee. You would think I deprive of hee that awful smelling coffee. We all are sitting down, passing the bowls and plates of food to place on our plates to eat. The next thing the juice and egg nog cartons are on each side of the table to be passed to people who want to pour themselves a cup. We have small wrapped cubes on a plate for people to get, and maple and strawberry syrup is on each side of the table for people to use.

" I have asked my nephew,  Peter Jr to say the blessing but first I am grateful for you all being here for breakfast to partake in it which my lovely wife and friend,  Silvia have made with me.  Jaime, thank you for my coffee. I love coffee, but these two don't care for it."

We all hold hands and bow as heads as Peter says the prayer. We all say amen. We begin eating and discussing what we are going to do. There is snow, and we will have to use the snowmobiles like you all came who had to come further away and not on this street.  We can go skiing,  snowboarding, and cross country skiing, which you will definitely get a work out," says Julia.

Everyone is talking and making decisions   . The three of us will use the snowmobiles to go skiing, the Nunez and Cabreras too. Peter and his children and their spouses want to go cross country skiing. Liz, Julian,  Lisa, and Taylor want to go snowboarding.  We all agree to meet for lunch at the resort, where we will be renting the equipment we need to do unless they bring their own equipment. We find out everyone brought their own equipment. We will drive the snowmobiles to go to Heavenly as the weather report says it has the most and best snow," says Cindy.

We enjoy our breakfast. Everyone pitches in to clean up. They all leave to get their gear to meet the three of us at Heavenly ski resort. We put our bibs and coats on and leave. We have our guns in our pocket of our coats. We go to the garage to get our skis and boots attached to skis and poles. We leave the garage. Julia locked the door and turned the alarm for the garage and cabin. We attached the ski poles and skis to the snowmobiles. We put on our helmets, cell phones, goggles, and our gloves on before we start the three snowmobiles . We make our way to the resort.  The sun is out, but it is snowing. We finally arrive and park the snowmobiles and leave our helmets attached to the seat and lock the helmet to the seat.We make our way into the resort to get lockers for our snow boots. We locked our snow boots and unclip the snow shoes from the skis and put them on our feet. We take our poles and skis to the restroom to use it. We wait our turn. We leave our poles and skis in the restroom and enter the stalls to use it. We are now washing and drying our hands. We leave with our gear and go buy lift tickets. We get our tickets and attach them to our ski coat and make our way to the ski lift with our gloves and goggles on. We have our beanies on Rio, which was in one of our coat pockets. We walk to the lift area and wait. We put our skis down and the shoes  we step on the skis to click them in. We are now waiting our turn. We see everyone who was snowboarding on the lift. Some of us get on the left and an employee pulls the safety bar over our hands and now it's in front us.The  Cabreras and Nunez are behind us in the lift.  We all are making our way up the hill. We can see a lot and it gorgeous but a little windy.  It's our turn to jump off the lift to ski. Julia gets ahead of us as we are skiing. Cindy and I watch as she gets closer to Alexa and Jaime. She passes them and some how ends up falling. They stop to see if she is alright. They are helping her get up when we stop where they are at.

" Babe are you okay?"   "Yes, just my pride and ass hurt. I will definitely feel it later on too. I was doing so well. "

Cindy asks her if she wants to continue going down the hill skiing. She says because it will take too long to walk it. Alexa and Jaime say they are going to go because my wife is okay and they leave.

" Cindy and I will let you go first just in case we need to help you sweetie."

She flips me off and we all chuckled. She us now skiing and we are a safe distance behind her. We all are at the bottom and start over four more times. We now are in the resort sitting down ordering our beverages and food.

" Julia,  my daughter tells me you fell. Are you okay?"   "Maria yes and sore. When we get back to the cabin, a nice hot bath with Epsom salt will help. I am done skiing for now."
" Lisa and I will come by so I  can give you a massage."  " Taylor thank you, but I  will have a egg nog with bourbon and drink it by the fire and take a nap."

We all understand she needs her nap. Everyone continues to talk and states what they will be bringing to the party. We finish and pay. We take our turns going to the restroom and leave to go back to our cabins. We are driving slower because Julia is. I decide after she drinks her cocktail I will give her a massage and maybe acupuncture. We finally are back inside. She goes upstairs to take a long hot bath.
