Several days had passed. We are now at his office. We are waiting to see him. Lisa is with the four guards. Sophie says a few words and asks her sister why we all are here. Silvia tells her the will won't be liked by her. She doesn't know what is in it. The attorneys secretary asks us to follow her to a conference room and the attorney is waiting for us. Sophie and her scum of a husband sit away from us all. The security guards sit and make sure they are keeping a fair amount of distance from Sophie and her husband.
" Thank you for coming. I will begin reading. He read everything that Silvia had inherited, and what Sophie is outraged she got their huge home, stocks, bonds, the majority of their jewelry, and money. The lawyer told her she would receive certain jewelry of her mother's only and five hundred thousand only. Sophie threatens Silvia. We are all standing by Silvia, ready to protect her at all costs. Sophie says she will petition for it to change. The lawyer states it won't matter. It's all legal.
" Sophie, you and your husband can buy their home at the going market price if you like. I will be donating a lot of the money and certain furniture to charities. I know what furniture you always liked. You will get those as well. I may not like the two of you. I am being more than fair. If you want to buy the house, you must start getting your funds together. I want it sold before I leave back to Washington. If not , it will be sold. Here is the realtor. He is waiting to hear from you." " I didn't expect any of this.Thank you for being fair. I hope you continue with the scholarships they set up and donate to their charities." " I am. Do you want to come with me to the funeral home to make arrangements . I chose our parents' favorite clothing to be buried in. They will be buried with the jewelry they had on them. I already identified their bodies and have paid for their death certificates. Cindy and Julia helped me with the food and beverages for the celebration of life. It will be held at the hospital. The house has new locks, and the alarm code has been changed. We are all staying there. I already sold their vehicles. The money from the sales was given to the veterans hospital in their memory. We will have a military funeral for them."
Sophie agrees, and we all leave. The family uses a certain funeral home.
" Sweetie, you were more than generous with your sister."
" My parents wrote me a letter asking me to do that. Otherwise, I wouldn't have. I have yet to forgive them. I still pray about it. I am hoping this will help her see that I am not the younger, bad, and evil sister. Maybe this will help her decide not to cause problems for me."We finally arrived and got out. We all make our way to meet with the employees of the funeral home. Her parents are already in their caskets and dressed. People have already been here and signed the guest book. We all pay our respects before the two sisters choose the type of service they want. They decided, and Silvia wrote a check. We stopped to have lunch together. Silvia pays, and we leave tips. Silvia tells us the money is from her parents. She has already closed out their accounts and removed the items from their boxes in the bank vault. We are now on the way to the church. We arrive and meet with the preach. He gives the grieving daughters his condolences. We all sit, and the sisters decided for it to be a short service. Silvia wrote another check and hands it to the priest. We all say goodbye to him. The last stop is to the florist the family has used for years. We all go, and the sisters decide in colors, type or flowers, and style of arrangements. Silvia wrote another check. We all leave. We go back to her parents' home. She calls a moving company to pack up all that is not staying. She asks the men and her brother in law to move all the furniture for her sister in one room downstairs. They got to get the dollies she rented and start on it. Silvia and her sister go to the kitchen to make coffee and hot tea for us all. We leave them alone to talk. We are nearby just in case. The men are done, and we all go to the dining room for coffee, hot tea, and some pastries we had bought from a local bakery.
" The movers will be here tomorrow to pack everything up. Once they are done, we will be checking into the Hyatt."
"Silvia, we talked, and I called the realtor. We decided for you to sell the house. We have way too good and bad memories. We have made arrangements to move the furniture with some of our friends." " I will sell the house and divide it as equally as I can to the local schools."We all finished. Sophie and her husband left. Our employees went to their rooms.
" Thank you for today. Seeing my parents today in their coffins wasn't easy. My sister, I think, will be civil or hope so. Tomorrow after everything is removed and the realtor appraises the house. We will leave. I won't return here. My sister is right. There are too many memories. I am going to go to my old bedroom and take a nap."
We hugged her and told her we were going to go with Lisa to our clinic, but the four men would be here. We would pick up dinner on our way back. She said okay. We left.
We stayed at our clinic for a few hours and then left to go buy dinner from a BBQ place. Lisa felt like eating BBQ. We finally returned, and Silvia was playing her parents' grand piano, and the guards were enjoying her playing. She didn't hear us come in as she had given us a key. We listened to play classical music and some modern songs. We clapped and whistled, and she stopped. The three told her she played beautifully. She said she would. R taking the grand piano. She mentioned she would have some of her furniture taken to consignment stores to sell, and her parents' antique furniture would replace them. The three of us removed our coats. The men told us she let them choose any suits, shows, ties, and other items they want of her father's, including some expensive jewelery. She stated she kept some. The rest of his clothes she would take them to be sold as well as her mother's. The funds would be given to a local food bank. We washed up and started serving ourselves. Silvia had several various and very expensive wines for us to choose from to drink. She offered to pay for dinner. Julia told her she paid and not to worry about it. She told us the men helped her pack up her parents' wines she would be bringing home. We knew they had very expensive taste in their liquor when she gave us a tour of the home. We all helped her pack up the various liquor that wasn't wine.
" I wanted bbq food for dinner. Julia was gracious to pay for it. She bought enough for us to take to the hotel for lunch."
We all finished. The guys did the cleaning and packed the food away. Silvia said some of the small appliances, pots, and pans she would bring back for the other newly hired guards as well as our other guards. We all told her that was gracious of her. We all said goodnight and went to our rooms for the night. The movers would be her by 7: 30. We should be done by ten. Silvia slept alone again out of respect for Lisa.
