Several weeks had passed. Last night was the rehearsal dinner held at Alexa's parents. Our employees and all of us had been working on their special day for a few days. We now were sitting next to their mothers. I was sitting next to Alexa's mother, and Cindy was next to Jaime's mother. We normally sit by one another but not for the ceremony. The four of them had red and white roses wrist corsage on with baby breaths. They were beautiful. They had several of their friends as bridesmaids and their groomsmen. The ring bearer was pulling the flower girl in a black wagon decorated with the same flowers as on our wrist. The flower girl was too young to walk on the on. They were dressed beautifully. The flower girl was dropping red and white rose pedals as they made their way up to the front. A string quartet was playing several songs. First came Jaime in a white gown with flowers around her head and a floral bouquet with her father, Hector, walking down her the aisle crying a little. They both were talking as they walked. He kisses his daughter and sits down by his wife, Anna. Next came Alexa dressed in a white gown with a very long train with a bouquet and a few roses in her hair that was waving. Her father, Manuel. He was smiling so much as he walked down the aisle with his daughter. He kisses Alexa and hands his daughter over to Jaime. Both parents stand up and state they willingly give their lovely daughters to be married today. They all sat down. Jaime and Alexa had their bouquets over to their made of honors and then light a candle. The pastor tells us it symbolizes them and all their loved ones who were deceased. They now are holding hands, looking into one another. Cindy gets up to the front and reads several passages from the Bible. She sits down, and now it is my turn. I do the same and stop to hug them both. I return to sit by Anna. The preacher asks if anyone feels they shouldn't be married. We all laughed when both of their parents stood up and turned around and said no one better. They sit down. Alexa states her vows she had written, and then Jaime does hers. He pronounces them as Mrs. & Mrs. Jaime Cabrera tells them they can kiss. They kissed so long that their fathers say out loud in unison enough. It is getting hot and we still need to take photos. They walk down the aisle, and everyone follows after the bridal party. Everyone who wasn't going to be in photos was asked by the priest to please go to the Majestic Hotel. The photographer started taking photos. We all had practiced yesterday. The photos took an hour. The hummer limousine took them and their parents to the hotel. The rest of us drove our vehicles. We finally arrived. My employees did an outstanding job of decorating the banquet room. The cake her mother made for them was huge and gorgeous with fresh roses on it with a crystal heart that had their first initial in it as the top of the five tier cake. They chose red velvet for the entire cake with butter cream white frosting with red roses. The father's spoke first than their mothers. We spoke after them. They spoke next thanking everyone for coming and helping them make their day special. They had no wedding gifts. On the wedding invitation, it asked people to donate to a charity in their names. People were being served their food and beverages. This was an alcohol free event. As we ate , mariachis played and sang. They ate before they left. They had their first dance than the bridal party and us six. They danced with their parents in a group setting. A DJ was hired to play. She did an excellent job the entire evening. The garter belts were tossed as well as their bouquets. Their friends caught them. They took a group photo. The crystal top was removed. Alice cut two pieces for them. They were messy. Cake was all over their faces. Their mothers scolded them in Spanish and Alice handed them wet wipes to clean their faces. They left to go get changed into a white short dresses that went below their knees. They did the toast. They asked during their speech no clanging a silverware with the crystals. It was the request of their fathers since they kissed enough. We all had a very tasty cake with milk and or coffee. We all danced a lot. They left that night on Cindy's plane to Spain. We all went home full and tired.
