"Anything behind us?"Thorin asked after they finally got away from the elves and the orcs, even though the orcs are still on their very tail."Not that I can see."Balin responded.
"I think we've outrun the orcs."Bofur stated.
"Not for long. We've most the current."
"Bombur's half drowned."Dwalin spoke,"Make for the shore."
"Aye."
Soon enough Heather stepped on the stone ground and coughed a bit of water up that she got into her mouth in the middle of the runaway ride from the elves and orcs. But soon enough her attention got taken away as Kili stumbled to the ground with a groan, making her run over to him, Bofur beside her.
"I'm fine. It's nothing."Kili said but Heather could see right through that lie.
"This isn't nothing."She snatched the cloth out of his hand and began to aid the wound to stop the bleeding, doing this as gently as she could. Fili soon reached her side and began to help her.
"On your feet."Thorin ordered.
"Kili's wounded. His leg needs binding."Fili argued.
"There's an orc pack on our tail. We keep moving."Thorin repeated.
"To where?"Balin asked.
"To the mountain. We're so close."Bilbo stated.
"A lake lies between us and that mountain. We have no way to cross it."
"So then we go around."Bilbo suggested.
"The orcs will run us down, as sure as daylight. We've no weapons to defend ourselves."Dwalin pointed out.
"And Kili is wounded, so that all of you can finally get it into your brain."Heather said as she glanced up at Thorin,"He needs aid. We can't just make a waltz around while he is hurt. Especially on his leg."
"I'm fine."Kili repeated to her making her send a glare his way.
"Bind his leg, quickly. You have two minutes."Thorin responded to Heather who gave him a nod. Two minutes are better than none.
She quickly did as best as she could, cleaning up the wound a bit with a small frown on her face, a small apology leaving her lips every time Kili winced. This wasn't normal, at least she thought that way, it shouldn't hurt that bad, right?
The brunette grabbed a bit more of clothing and wrapped around Kili's leg, binding it hard enough so not too much blood would leave his body and no infections could happen.
She turned around as soon as she felt like someone was standing behind her, and soon enough she saw a male with a bow aimed at them.
"Geez."She exclaimed as soon as Dwalin stepped forward with a wooden branch/stick, making the man shot an arrow at it. Kili grabbed a stone to throw but the man also simply shot the object out of his hand.
"Do it again..and you're dead."The man said making Heather stand up and step in front of Kili.
"Excuse me, but, um, you're from Lake-town, if I'm not mistaken."Balin spoke up as he took a few steps forward to the stranger,"That barge over there.. it wouldn't be available for hire, by any chance?"
"What makes you think I would help you?"The man asked as he stood in his boat, putting the barrels into it.
"This boots have seen better days. As has that coat. No doubt you have some hungry mouths to feed."Balin stated,"How many bairns?"
