Heather sat beside her uncle, drinking the tea she had made herself as Bilbo placed the plates with food down, before sitting beside her.

Just as the two were about to eat, the door bell suddenly rang. Heather glanced at her uncle who seemed just as confused as she was.

"I think that was the door."Heather spoke as she sipped on her tea.

"Yes, I heard it."Bilbo replied as he stood up and walked towards the door, before gesturing the brunette to follow him.

Heather gave Bilbo a look, before looking at her tea and back at her uncle. She rolled her eyes and placed the tea down, following him.

As soon as the door opened, Heather raised her eyebrows as a dwarf literally stood in front of their doorstep.

"Dwalin, at your service."The dwarf, dwalin spoke with a small bow.

"Uh.."Bilbo spoke,"Bilbo baggings. At yours."He gestured towards Heather,"Heather, my niece."

"Do we know each other?"Bilbo asked as he watched dwalin walk into the hobbit hole.

"No."He spoke as he passed them,"Which way, laddie? Is it down here?"

"I-Is what down where?"

"Supper. He said there'd be food. And lots of it."Dwalin replied and threw his coat into Bilbo's hands.

"He-He said? Who said?"Bilbo asked, more to himself though as the new guest didn't really listened.

"Did you found new friends while I was away?"Heather asked as she kicked the door close before following Dwalin into the kitchen.

"No! I definitely didn't! I.."Bilbo let out a sigh as he noticed that his niece didn't listened either.

Heather was leaning against the wall while Dwalin was eating and Bilbo was giving him looks that just screamed that he was confused, not that pleased that a random stranger was in his home and rethinking the decision to open that door.

"Very good, this. Any more?"Dwalin asked, after finishing eating both heather's and Bilbo's meal.

"What?"Bilbo asked.

"He asked if there was more-"

"I know what he asked, Heather."Bilbo murmured before standing up."Yes, yes. Help yourself."Bilbo spoke as he handed Dwalin the plate with food.

"Mm. It's just that, umm...I wasn't expecting company."Bilbo added as he spoke to the dwarf while Heather was playing with a fork, debating whether to make her uncle angry when she throws it at the wall or just say fuck it and do it. That was until the door bell rang again.

"The door."Heather murmured, bored.

"The lady's right. That'll be the door."Dwalin spoke up.

Bilbo nodded and passed Heather, the girl rolling her eyes as she followed after her uncle, the curiosity on wanting to know who rang winning.

Long story short, it was another dwarf, even though this one looked older (not that Heather was good in guessing ages or anything, after she had met elves).

"Balin, at your service."Balin greeted with a small bow.

"Good evening."Bilbo greeted back.

"Yes. Yes, it is."Balin spoke as he entered the house too,"Though I think it might rain later. Hm. Am I late?"

"Late for what?"Bilbo asked.
