Megumi paced around his room, his mind racing with worry. Saori had always been so full of light, carefree, and unbreakable, but everything changed the moment she learned the painful truth about her existence and the dark chaos it brought with it. He'd never seen her so broken, so lost. The thought that this truth might have shattered something in her that could never be fixed weighed heavily on him.

His gaze kept darting to the door, hoping with every second that she'd come back. He wanted nothing more than to be there for her, to protect her, even if he couldn't fully comprehend the pain she was feeling. His heart pounded as he heard the soft click of the doorknob. Turning swiftly, he saw her standing there, shoulders slumped, her usually bright eyes puffy and red from crying.

"Saori!" he breathed, crossing the room in an instant. Without a second thought, he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close as if to shield her from the pain, even if only for a moment. "I was so worried about you..."

She melted into his embrace, her face pressing against his shoulder as she held onto him tightly. "I'm sorry for making you worry," she whispered, her voice barely a murmur.

He pulled back just enough to look at her, brushing a stray tear from her cheek with a gentleness that seemed to convey all the words he struggled to find. "Hey," he said softly, his eyes searching hers. "You don't have to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong, Saori."

She looked away, guilt flickering in her gaze, but Megumi gently cupped her face, guiding her attention back to him. "I know you're scared," he continued, his voice filled with a quiet strength. "And I know you feel like you have to carry this alone... but you're not alone, Saori. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."

Her grip on his shirt tightened, and for a moment, she simply stayed there, wrapped in his arms. His steady heartbeat, the warmth of his embrace—it was enough to remind her, however faintly, that she wasn't completely lost. That there was still something to hold onto.

"Thank you, Megumi," she whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of gratitude and sadness. But even as she clung to him, the dark thoughts lingered, hovering at the edge of her mind like shadows she couldn't shake.

Megumi sensed it, the heaviness that still weighed on her, and he took a deep breath, his own resolve strengthening. "We'll find a way to get through this," he assured her, his tone unwavering. "Whatever it takes, we'll figure it out... together."

The words settled around her, soothing and solid, like an anchor in a storm. She closed her eyes, letting herself believe, if only for a moment, that maybe, just maybe, there was hope. In his arms, with his quiet determination surrounding her, she felt a glimmer of reassurance.

As they stood together in that silent embrace, neither spoke again. Words weren't needed; the promise was there, spoken in the gentle, steady beat of his heart, a reminder that she wasn't alone. And in that room, with Megumi's arms wrapped around her, she felt just a little more safe.

In the darkened countryside, the abandoned prison loomed like a ghostly relic, its broken windows and cracked stone walls casting long shadows in the fading daylight. Saori, Megumi, Yuji, and Nobara gathered near the entrance, huddled close as they discussed their plan. The chill in the air seemed to match the eerie aura around them, yet they maintained their focus, each warrior mentally steeling themselves for the task ahead.

"Alright, here's the plan," Megumi began, his tone low and even. "The first-grade curse is somewhere inside, probably lurking near the heart of the prison. Yuji and I will go in from the east side. Nobara, you take the south entrance with Saori and regroup with us once we've located it. We'll surround it and take it down."
