The following day, you keep to yourself, trudging through your tasks while fighting exhaustion. The images and emotions from yesterday’s events haven’t let you rest, and it’s all weighing on you like an anchor, pulling you deeper into your own thoughts. All you want is to finish up and settle in for the night to finally get some sleep, but just as you’re about to retreat to your room, word comes that Levi has summoned everyone for a meeting. Great. The last thing you want right now is to see anyone, especially while running on no sleep. A spark of irritation rises as you make your way to the room.

When you arrive, you notice the others already gathered, murmuring in low voices. You slip into a chair beside Eren, staying silent, not really in the mood for conversation. Eren turns to look at you, concern in his eyes. He doesn’t say a word, but he notices the heavy shadows under your eyes, the dull sadness lingering in your expression. He opens his mouth, as if wanting to ask if you’re okay, but stops, reading the cold look on your face as a clear warning. The others seem to notice your mood too; they’re used to seeing you in higher spirits, but no one presses. They give you the space they can tell you need.

Levi especially is aware. He leans against the wall, arms crossed, his gaze locked on the floor. Yet, you can feel the occasional glances he throws in your direction, though he doesn’t approach. Just then, the door opens, and Nifa steps in, her eyes scanning the room.

“Hello everyone.” she says, nodding in acknowledgment before glancing at Reeves and his son standing quietly by the wall. “Are they okay to be here for this?” Her gaze shifts uncertainly from Levi to the rest of the group.

Levi gives her a curt nod. “They’re fine, they should hear this.” He says quietly, but firmly.

Nifa clears her throat, addressing the group. “I have a message from Erwin regarding the current situation,” she begins, looking around to make sure she has everyone’s attention. “Erwin has decided that Historia is to be queen.”

A collective gasp echoes around the room, with everyone’s eyes darting to Historia. The shock is palpable—wide eyes, muttered reactions—but you remain silent, unsurprised. You’d already heard this from Hange before. Still, the realization that she’s actually being put in line for the throne feels surreal.

You catch Nifa glancing at Levi, prompting him to fill in the details. “Captain Levi?” she prods, her voice gentle but questioning. Levi looks up, realizing he’d neglected to share this crucial information sooner. You resist the urge to roll your eyes. How could he forget to mention something so important?

He clears his throat, his voice low and direct. “The king is a fraud,” he states bluntly. “The real royal family… is the Reiss family.”

All eyes turn to Historia, her face a mask of shock and confusion, her gaze unfocused. You can only imagine the storm of emotions swirling within her.

“So… the goal of this revolution is to put Historia on the throne?” Armin speaks up, glancing between Levi and Historia with uncertainty.

“That’s right,” Levi confirms, his tone unwavering as he meets Historia’s stunned gaze. He holds her gaze, his eyes firm but somehow sympathetic. “Do you understand, Historia?” he asks quietly, waiting for a sign that she’s taking this all in.

“There’s… no way that’s possible,” she mumbles, her voice trembling as she tries to process what’s just been thrown at her.

Levi’s voice grows sharper, more insistent. “I know it sounds unbelievable. But it’s reality, and it has to be you.” His gaze hardens, voice lowering as he sees her continue to struggle. “This is your destiny.”

“I can't… I’m unfit,” she says softly, her voice barely more than a whisper. She looks away, unable to face him.

Levi steps forward, irritation slipping into his features as he closes the distance between them. His patience seems to evaporate. “So that’s it? You’re saying no?” His voice rises slightly, a biting edge cutting through the silence.
