The soft light streaming through the giant windows painted the room in a warm glow, gradually pulling you from the haze of sleep. You blink a few times, realizing you were lying on your side, facing the windows. As you shifted slightly, you felt it—arms snugly wrapped around your waist.
Your heart skipped as the realization hit you. He was still here, his body warm and steady against yours, his light breathing brushing against the back of your neck. You shuffled again, unintentionally rousing him. He stirred, the subtle rustle of the sheets making your heart race.
Levi's eyes opened slightly, and he rubbed the sleep from them before glancing at you. Without hesitation, he scooted closer, burying his face into the crook of your neck. His warm breath tickled your skin, sending a fluttering sensation through your chest.
"Good morning," you said with a soft giggle.
"Good morning," Levi murmured, his voice low and gravelly from sleep.
You turned your head slightly to glance at him. "How'd you sleep?"
He hesitated for a moment, his lips curving into a faint smile. "Best sleep I've had in a long time."
A soft laugh escaped you before you leaned back to kiss his cheek. Levi's eyes softened as he hugged you closer, his embrace tightening playfully. For several minutes, you lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, talking quietly and savoring the stillness of the morning.
But the peace didn't last long.
A loud knock sounded at the door, followed by Hange's unmistakable, energetic voice. "Hey! Are you up? There's a lot we need to talk about!"
You sighed, exchanging a look with Levi, who raised an eyebrow as if to say, Do we have to? He finally nodded toward the door, releasing you from his hold.
Reluctantly, you slid out of bed, pulling the blanket up to shield yourself from the morning chill. Cracking the door open, you were greeted by Hange's bright grin, her journal clutched to her chest and a pencil haphazardly stuck in her hair.
"You're okay!" she exclaimed, pulling you into a tight hug.
"I'm fine, Hange," you reassured her, chuckling.
"I swear I wanted to come see you sooner... But Erwin had me and a bunch of other Scouts dig through Rod's home and chapel for any secret information. I came running here first thing this morning after I begged him to let me go!" She says as she squeezes tighter.
She stepped back, her hands resting on your shoulders, her expression shifting to one of exaggerated betrayal. "But you never told me you had Titan powers! How could you keep that from me?"
You blinked, stammering slightly. "If I knew about them sooner, I would have told you... I just got them recently."
Her face lit up with a teasing grin. "Mmm-hmm, sure." She hugged you again, her tone softening. "I'm more worried about you though. I thought I lost my best friend when Levi came out of the cavern without you."
You patted her back lightly, smiling. "I'm not going anywhere, Hange."
Before you could say more, her gaze shifted past you, and her eyes widened in surprise. "Wait... is that Leviiiii?!?"
You turned to see Levi casually buttoning up his coat, completely unbothered by Hange's theatrics. Her mouth dropped open before she burst out, "No way! Is this finally a thing?!"
Levi approached with his usual deadpan expression, resting his hand on Hange's head and firmly pushing it down. "Stop making that stupid face, four eyes."
