It’s been a few days since the encounter with Kenny, and Levi had been on edge ever since. It was one thing to worry about the military police taking you, Eren, and Historia. But out of all the damn people in the world, it had to be Kenny.
The man known as a cold-blooded serial killer, infamous for earning the name Kenny the Ripper. The thought of you being in his hands gnawed at Levi relentlessly. Who knew what kind of sick, twisted things Kenny was doing to you at that very moment?
Levi hadn’t been himself since. More irritable, more restless. He hadn’t slept at all, pouring every ounce of his energy into finding leads, interrogating informants, and piecing together any clue about where you could have been taken.
While he worked tirelessly, Hange had been rallying the people of Trost with the help of the newspaper company and Reeves’ son, exposing the government’s corruption and turning the public against the military police. Meanwhile, Erwin had narrowly escaped execution thanks to a clever ploy to reveal the court’s true colors during a staged titan breach. With the Scouts' efforts, the government had been overthrown, leaving the military to take control.
Yet even as things seemed to be falling into place, one glaring issue remained unresolved—finding you, Eren, and Historia.

The forest was dark, the moonlight slicing through the thick canopy above. The cold air stung Levi’s face, but he didn’t flinch as he dragged the captured soldier by the arm. His squad trailed behind silently, tension crackling between them. They’d infiltrated a military police checkpoint and taken one of their captains—a man who might have the answers they needed. Levi didn’t care how long it would take or how messy it might get. He’d make him talk.
When they reached a clearing, Levi threw the man down against the base of a tree. The soldier groaned, disoriented, as Levi yanked the sack off his head. The moonlight illuminated his pale, panicked face as his eyes darted around, trying to make sense of his surroundings.
“W-What is this?” the soldier stammered, his voice laced with false bravado. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
Levi didn’t flinch. His voice was low, steady, and dangerous. “Where is Rod Reiss?”
The soldier’s lip curled into a smirk, realizing the situation. “You think you scare me?”
Levi didn’t bother answering. With a swift, merciless kick, he smashed his boot into the soldier’s face, knocking teeth loose and leaving blood dripping from his mouth and nose.
The soldier coughed, spitting blood onto the ground as Levi crouched in front of him. Grabbing a fistful of the man’s hair, Levi yanked him forward, forcing their eyes to meet.
“I’m not here to scare you... But let me make one thing clear,” Levi growled, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’ve had just about enough of the military police, the government, and your pathetic secrets. So unless you want to die right here, start talking.”
“Go to hell,” he muttered.
Without hesitation, Levi slammed his fist into the man’s mouth, knocking out another tooth. “That’s one way to stall,” Levi said, shaking the pain out of his knuckles, “but I’d suggest you pick a better strategy. You fail to realize we just infiltrated one of your checkpoints.”
The soldier, still coughing, weakly laughed. “Do you think you’re some kind of hero? That camp you hit was full of recruits who couldn’t even wipe their own asses. You’re nothing but a pest playing soldier.”
Levi’s expression didn’t change. “What an atrocious thing we've done... But what's more atrocious is that mouth of yours,” Levi said coldly as he slams his boot into the soldier's mouth, breaking his teeth. “I suggest you start using it wisely before I make it useless.”
