"Hey. You're still awake?" Dean asked.
"Yeah. Why? What time is it?"
"It's 10:30. You stayed up all night?"
"I guess so." I really hadn't paid attention to the time.
"Come on." He said, taking my arm. "You're going to bed."
"Dean. I need to stay until he wakes up." I said.
"I'll stay with him. You need to sleep." He led me into my room. I sat on the bed and a few tears leaked my eyes. "Why are you crying?" He asked, concerned.
"I don't want him to wake up and see I'm not there. He needs me to be there for him. I told him I'd never leave him."
"Miranda, I'll tell him I made you go to bed. It'll be ok. I'll make sure he knows you were with him all night. You aren't leaving him. It's hurting your body to not sleep. Please, just relax and sleep." I nodded and wiped my eyes. I laid down and was out like a light.
~Dean's POV~
I went and sat in the chair next to Sam. His fever was up a little bit so I iced his head a little bit more. After a couple hours of sitting there, he finally woke up.
"Dean?"
"Hey. You're ok. You have some stitches in your back and you're bruised up a bit. You have a bit of a fever too."
"Where's Miranda?"
"She's asleep. She wanted to stay by your side but I made her go sleep."
"Why?" He asked still a little out of it.
"She stayed up with you all night. From the second we got home until about 10:30 this morning."
"I'm glad you made her sleep. She shouldn't push herself that hard. How did you get me down the stairs? I thought I collapsed outside."
"Miranda carried you. I helped her hold you up, but she carried you downstairs and in here."
"How did she do that? I'm so tall compared to her."
"I don't know. It was amazing though. She was so scared."
"I'm sure. Is she ok? I'm sure it's tough on her seeing me this way."
"She's ok. She's the one who stitched you up and everything. Her mom was a nurse and taught her a bunch of medical stuff."
"How do you know that? She never mentioned her family to me."
"When I got hurt really bad when you wouldn't go on that hunt with me, she brought it up."
"Oh. Ok. Dean, how long have you been up?" He asked, seeing me yawn.
"I didn't fall asleep until a little after 3 and I got up about 10:30."
"Dean, I'm ok. You should go to bed too."
"No way. I told her I'd stay up with you. She was already scared about going to bed."
"Why was she scared?"
"She didn't know if and when you would wake up and she wanted to be there for you. And, she told you she would never leave you again."
"She's not leaving me. She needs to rest. It's hard on her body not to." Just then Ethan started crying. "Dean, can you check on Ethan? If it's not a dirty diaper, bring him to me with a bottle. She doesn't need to wake up for that." I nodded. It wasn't a dirty diaper. He just wanted to be held and fed. I brought him to Sam who managed to prop himself up in bed. "Hey buddy." He said to Ethan. He took Ethan in his arms and the crying stopped.
