We spent the day hanging out while Ethan slept, occasionally having to feed him and change his diaper, but in general, he was a quiet baby. The next day, things got a little tougher. Ethan wasn't cranky, which was nice, but Dean found a hunt. I was in the nursery playing with Ethan and his mobile when the boys discussed the hunt.

~Sam's POV~

"Dean, please. Just go by yourself just this once. I want to be here with Ethan and Miranda."

"I can't do this alone."

"Yes you can. Please."

"It's too much for one person."

"Please Dean?" He sighed

"If I so much as get hurt even a little, I'm not gonna be the only one pissed."

"Thank you. I know. Just be safe, Dean."

"I'll try." He replied before leaving. I walked into the nursery.

"Why didn't you leave? I thought you had a hunt."

"Dean told me he would handle it so I could stay with you and Ethan."

"You sure it's ok? I don't want him getting hurt."

"Yeah." I lied smoothly. We waited around. After a while, I was starting to worry that Dean hadn't gotten back yet. I stepped out of the nursery where we were watching Ethan sleep to call Dean. He didn't answer.

"Babe. He didn't answer his phone. Is he ok?"

"I'm sure he's ok. If he's not back in-" we heard the door to the bunker shut. We both left the sleeping Ethan and went to the main room. Dean limped his way down the stairs and fell to his knees at the bottom.

"Sam. Go back to the nursery with Ethan. I'll help Dean."

"I can-"

"Go." She said again. I went back to the nursery and shut the door knowing Dean would tell her, and not wanting to hear it.

~Miranda's POV~

I ran over to Dean and helped him up. The guest room where I used to stay was closer than the couch, so I just took him there. "I'll take you to my old room. It's closer." He nodded. I helped him limp to the room where he heavily laid on the bed.

"What happened?"

"There were just too many of them. I told Sam I couldn't do it alone, but he's too stubborn to listen."

"Are they following you?"

"No. I got them all."

"Do you need any stitches?"

"I'm ok. Just beaten up pretty bad. Just some bruises and my arm is sprained a little bit. I'm ok."

"You sure? Do you need Sam's sling?"

"I'm fine. I'm just sore. Relax. I'll be ok." I took a deep breath and relaxed.

"So what were you saying about Sam being too stubborn to listen?" I asked cautiously.

"Sam didn't want to go because he wanted to stay with you and Ethan. I tried to fight him on it, but I needed to get to that hunt and I didn't want to drag you into an argument. I just went and he stayed."

"He told me you said he could stay."

"Well, that's a complete and utter lie." I slammed my fists on the desk with a groan. Not only did he lie to me, but he put his own brother at risk.

"Hey, calm down. It's ok. I'm not dead. You can get mad at him later. Just relax please. I don't like seeing you mad."

"Ok." I said as I relaxed a little. "Here, let me get all that blood off your face." His face was covered in blood. I went to the bathroom and grabbed a washcloth that I ran under the water and got damp.
