~Miranda's POV~

I got up in the morning and went out to the guys. Sam greeted me first.

"Morning babe." He said before giving me a quick kiss.

"Morning." I said.

"I take it things are good between you two?" Dean asked.

"Yep. Things are great Dean." I responded. "I can't thank you enough for helping with this."

"You're welcome."

"Well, I'm gonna go take a shower." They both nodded. I walked down the hallway. I think Dean thought I was out of ear's reach, because he really laid into Sam.

"I'm happy you two are finally together Sam. I'm dead serious though when I say that if you hurt her again, I will seriously beat your a**." I couldn't help but chuckle. Dean was being like a protective brother and it was really sweet.

"I won't. I promised her last night I would never leave her. I hope she knows I would never want to hurt her in any way ever again and that I didn't mean to in the first place."

"Good. I'm sure she knows that."

"And Dean," Sam started. "Just like Miranda said, thanks. We wouldn't be together if it weren't for you."

"No problem. You both deserve to be happy. I'm sure Jess would be happy for you."

They stopped talking so I went and took my shower. I got out and returned to find only Sam at the table. "Where's Dean?"

"He went to get food."

"Oh ok. I want you to know that I heard your whole conversation with Dean earlier. I know you don't want to hurt me ever again."

"I never meant to in the first place."

"I know. It's ok. We are together and that's all that matters." I said before giving him a long, slow, passionate kiss on the lips.

We had done enough research for a while, so after we ate, the three of us sat on the couch and just hung out, watching tv. I sat with my head leaned into Sam, and my fingers intertwined with his. It was great. That is, until I realized something: this was the way all my relationships started out. All my relationships started great and they all promised they'd never leave, and then they do. A couple tears slid down my face.

"Hey Sam, can you and I talk?"

"Yeah, sure." We went into my room. "What's wrong?"

"I'm scared, Sam."

"Why?"

"Every person I ever dated, things started out great like they are now. They were great for quite a while, but it never stayed that way. They all left me."

"First off, I promised you I wouldn't leave you."

"So did every guy I ever loved."

"Can I ask a question? I promise I'm not trying to be mean."

"Yeah." I replied.

"Why did they leave you?"

"I don't know." I lied smoothly. I wasn't ready to explain why my ex left.

"Ok. Well, do you trust me?"

"Yes." I replied.

"Well, then trust that I'm not gonna leave you and I will always love you." I just nodded.

"It's just hard to believe that when I've been told the same thing over and over and have no way of telling that this time is any different."

"I get it. I really do, but I promised you I wouldn't leave you and will always love you. I don't break my promises."

"Ok. I just don't want to get hurt again."

"It's ok. I get it. You have every right to be scared."

"Thanks." I said before we headed back out to Dean. We hung out for the rest of the night before calling it quits around midnight.
