Diamond Within - Vi x OC

Chapter 4

As they walked down the streets, Geo's mind was still preoccupied with the conversation they had had at the restaurant. It felt oddly strange, having Vi open up to her like that.

She glanced at Vi, who was walking a few steps ahead of her, her expression hard to read. The gauntlets she wore were an unusual sight, but they suited her rugged image.

Geo tried her best to shake the lingering thoughts from her mind and focus on the present. They walked side by side, their footsteps echoing in the silence of the streets.

The silence between them was comfortable, but Geo couldn't help but notice how Vi's shoulders seemed to be weighed down by her worries. She could sense a storm brewing within Vi, and she longed to know more about what was going on in Vi's head.

As they walked, Geo found her gaze drifting back to Vi's face. The hard planes of her features were softened by the dim streetlights, and she had a certain vulnerability about her that was both captivating and a little sad. Geo wondered what other secrets Vi was still holding onto.

"Hey, can I ask you something?"

Geo's voice broke the comfortable silence, her words echoing in the quiet.

Vi glanced at her, a flash of curiosity in her eyes. "What's up?"

Before she could speak, she was interrupted by the sound of voices in the distance. They were approaching a quieter part of town, but they could hear children crying.

Geo looked back at Vi, catching her attention. "Do you want to go check it out?" She asked tentatively, not wanting to intrude on her thoughts.

Vi turned to you, her expression still somewhat troubled, but a flicker of curiosity appeared in her eyes. "Sure, why not?"

As they got closer, a thick fog settled over them. Geo traced the sounds from the warehouse close by. She gestured to Vi and they both rushed inside. Vi raised her gauntlets on her fists, and Geo felt her fingers brush the handle of her gun strapped to her thigh.

"Hello?' Geo called out into the fog, but the crying didn't stop. She walked in deeper and noticed a small device on the floor, making a the voice of a child. Geo looked up to Vi. All of a sudden the door to the warehouse slammed shut. The crying slowly turned to laughing.

"Jinx!" Vi called out seeming to already know who was behind this.

The laughing stopped. "Hello sister." the voice spat it out like a venom.

Geo froze as the fog cleared to see Jinx hanging from the ceiling. Sister? What? Jinx was Vi's sister? She didn't have any time to think because Jinx had already fallen to the ground and was slinking her way over to them.

"What do you want?" Vi kept her gauntlets raised.

Jinx shrugged. "Nothing." Jinx eyed Vi cursiouly then her gaze fell on Geo. "Who is she?" 

Before Geo could reply, Vi protectively placed an arm before Geo. "None of your concern." 

Jinx looked bored. "Really? What happened to 'Cupcake'?" She walked around, her back facing them.

Vi gritted her teeth. "Why is it your mission to make my life a living hell." 

Jinx sharply turned to face her and that was when Geo realized for the first time, that her eyes were pink.

 Shimmer.

Geo didn't have much experience with the substance but she knew what it could do to a person and that it came from Zuan. 

Jinx's eyes seemed to glow which made Geo wonder how she didn't notice that. 

"I made your life hell. real funny." Then seemingly out of nowhere, she pulled out a minigun, graffitied with pink and blue markers. She started to shoot.

"No-" Before Geo could help Vi an arm wrapped around her neck. To her surprise, it was completely mechanical with a claw for a hand. It was graffitied in the same markers as Jinx's minigun. 

The arm choked Geo and she elbowed the person in the stomach. they let go of her and she quickly grabbed her gun and pointed it to her attacker. 

Geo's mouth opened in shock. "Mama?" 

It was her alright. She looked a bit older and more fit and her usual robot arm was replaced with the bigger one.

Sevika looked at her for a moment before regonization lit up across her face.

"You've been gone for so long. I thought you were never coming back." She grunted still recovering from the blow.

"I left to find answers. I was always going to come back." Geo said the gun still pointed at Sevika.

"I know how much you hate the lanes, what would be your reason?" She chuckled bitterly.

"You and I both know the answer to that." Geo suddenly remembered what was going on behind her.

Vi and Jinx were up at it in arms. They were scraping each other and dirty fighting. Both of them were bleeding. Geo looked to see Vi's gauntlets and Jinx's minigun on the floor long forgotten.

Vi had Jinx to a wall. She was punching her over and over again.

 "She's going to kill her," Geo realized.  

Geo rushed towards them to stop them.

Vi, fueled by years of anger, pain, and regret, couldn't seem to control her rage. With each blow, it was as if she was trying to release all the built-up frustration and pain she had been carrying inside for so long.

Suddenly, as Vi raised her fist for another blow, she felt someone grip her arm and pull her back. She turned to see Geo, her eyes wide with horror.

"Stop," She said, "Please, she's had enough."

Vi turned to see Jinx crying and screeching as she tried to get out of Vi's grip that she had on her neck.

She looked back at Geo and saw herself begging Caitlyn to stop just a month ago. She looked at Sevika, holding back the same child who had tried to save Jinx that same night.

She let go.

Jinx heaved for breath and she fell to the floor crying and screeching before passing out. Vi then realized how tired and bruised she was. 

Geo quickly went under her shoulder to support her. She glanced up at Sevika who was lifting Jinx's body over her shoulder.

"She'll be fine," she said reading Geo's face. "just need a bit of rest."

"What was she even planning?" Geo asks struggling to hold Vi up.

Sevika just shrugs."You can never know with her." She started to walk away.

"Mama wait!" 

Sevika turned to face her once more.

"Will I ever see you again?" 

Sevika's face softens for the first time. "Hope not." With that, she turns around and walks away.
