Chapter 10

Geo stared at the ceiling from her bed. She looked over at Vi, who was still sound asleep. She sighed as she got out of bed, rubbing her eyes. She walked over to the balcony, careful not to wake Vi up. The sun wasn't up yet as she looked over all of Piltover. She hadn't thought that she would ever be back here. She wore a thin blue nightgown, and the morning air made her shiver.  

It had been 2 weeks since the attack—countless people dead. A reborn civilization ruined. Isha dead. 

After Isha had pulled the trigger, everyone next to her was blown into shreds. Vander had been knocked out, lava cooling down. Ambessa and the remaining of her soldiers retreated. 

As the soldier ran away from the carnage, Jinx picked up Isha's body, lifeless in her arms. She finally looked like the most dangerous criminal in Zaun.

 Before Vi could even walk up to her, Jinx had surrendered, and Caitlyn arrested her.

Caitlyn had taken them back to Piltover even though Vi protested greatly to this. 

Ambessa's army hadn't attacked Piltover at all, it even seemed that they completely disappeared from Piltover. Every sign that they had been in Piltover was gone. Vi just said that they got scared and ran off, but that didn't stop Geo from being anxious. 

She looked down at her tattoo and how it glowed that night. It wouldn't glow again no matter how much she tried. How could she literally be able to bend air, then couldn't even make her tattoo glow? She sighed looking at the rising sun. This had gone downhill so fast.

Geo felt arms wrapped around her waist. "You're thinking."

 Vi rested her head on Geo's shoulder, wearing only a loose shirt. The black dye in her hair was fading so only her roots were black now the rest of her hair dark red. 

"Just... processing everything that's happened, I guess," Geo responded softly, leaning back against Vi. Her eyes stayed fixed out across the horizon as the sun rose, bathing Piltover in a soft glow.

Vi tightened her arms around Geo's waist as she rested against her. She looked at the rising sun as well, watching as the soft glow bathed Piltover in light.

"Yeah, it's a lot to process, huh?" she said finally, her voice a murmur. Her fingers traced patterns on Geo's skin absently. "So much has happened in such a short time."

"Sometimes I feel like I can't keep up," Geo admitted, letting out a deep breath. "Not just with what's happening but... processing everything that's changed. The people we've lost... the danger we're all in..."

She leaned back against Vi, finding comfort in her presence. "I keep thinking there should be something we can do, some way to fix this."

Vi's hand continued to idly trace patterns on Geo's skin as she listened.

"I know what you mean," she said softly. "I feel that way too. Like we should be doing more, but... what can we do against someone like Ambessa? She's got an army, resources, power..."

She sighed, the weight of everything heavy on her mind. "I just want to keep you safe, you know? And everyone else. But I feel like... I'm in over my head here."

"You and me both." Geo sighed, feeling the warmth of the sun rush on her face.

Vi's kissed Geo's cheeks and a small smile tugged at the corner of Geo's lips. She reached up to gently brush a strand of hair away from Vi's face.

"You're always so soft and gentle when you're half-asleep," she teased softly. "Just wait until you're fully awake, you'll be all tough and cranky again."
