Vi led them as they walked through Zaun. Geo looked at people who were paralyzed or hurt, all going to the same destination.

They hid Vander by covering him with a massive cloak so that no one would try to attack him or get him pissed again.

As they walked Geo watched the big creature. She didn't know much about Vander, but she knew that she was Vi's and Jinx's adopted father. She had even grown a bit fond of him, even though he smelt like chemicals and dog breath combined.

They were stopped by a man by the gate of the small civilization. The man wore white robes, his long hair pulled into a bun.

"Vi." His eyes light up with recognition. "I hoped you might return."

Geo raised her eyebrow. Did Vi know everyone in this damn city?

Vi looked at him with disgust. "You filthy traitor."

"Yes." The man lowered his gaze. "That was me at my worst. Simply awful." He met her gaze once more. "But the Herald has freed me from my past self. He's given me the chance to make amends."

Vi narrowed her eyes. She glanced at someone giving a lady with a crutch some water.

The man followed Vi's gaze. "All are welcome." He looked back at her gauntlets. "But I must ask you to surrender their weapons."

Jinx scoffs and points her gun at the man. Geo places her hand on the gun placed on her hip.

Vi sighed and her gauntlets fell to the floor and walked into the city. Jinx stared at Vi before removing a small blue gem from her gun and handing it to the man. Geo gave her gun up too before following Vi.

As we crossed the gate Vi stopped and grabbed Geo's hand in awe.

Geo couldn't help but be in awe as well. Buildings in white were everywhere and people were helping others something Geo hadn't seen in a long time.

"The Heralds vision." The man came from behind them.

As they walked through the streets people were working and chatting in harmony. They all wore clean white robes.

As they walked past a blacksmith, they put the hot metal into water, Vander roared and his cloak fell off. He reared as Geo tried to calm him down. Isha went in front of Vander protectively. Surprisingly no one reacted as Geo thought they would. They were pretty calm about the fact there was a man-wolf in front of them.

Vi tried to put his cloak back on, but the man stopped her and shook his head.

"Come, he's expecting you." The man started walking again.

He led them to the top of the small city. It was a massive sphere with an entrance. it was multicoloured and shone in the sun.

From the darkness, Geo saw a figure approaching them. She glanced warily at Vi.

Hope she knows what she's doing. Geo thought.

As the figure stepped into the sunlight, she saw that he had brown hair with white tips and a long staff. His body was covered in strange symbols, almost as if they were carved into his body almost like...

Geo looked at her tattoo, covered by her arms and sleeves. She had always wondered what it was.

"We hear you can heal people," Vi said to the strange man.

The man looked at Vander before stepping closer to him. Vander seemed anxious and stepped away from the strange man. The man placed his hand on Vander's furry forehead and closed his eyes.

He then opened his eyes in shock and fell to the ground. He looked up at Vander, who looked uncomfortable and uneasy.

Jinx calmed Vander down before glaring at the strange man as he got up.

The man introduced himself as Victor. He took the girls and Vander to a small well and Vander drank from it. Geo sat on the edge of the well.

"Vander's psyche is deeply entangled with that of the beast," Victor told Vi.

"How do you know his name?" Vi asked him.

"He told me," Victor said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Ask for a miracle healer," Jinx balanced on the edge of the well careful not to fall in the water. "Get a metal fortune cookie."

Vi sat beside Geo as she ran her fingers through her messy black hair.

Victor smiled softly. "I saw your father. His dream of your family and Zaun as it could have been," He paused. "It was, beautiful."

"Cookie." Jinx coughed.

"Can you help him?" Vi asked hope in her eyes.

"I will do all in my power" Victor replied.

Isha ran up to Vander, her hat full of water for the big creature to drink. She accidently splashed Geo who splashed her back as Isha giggled.

"However, I have one condition."

Jinx stopped pacing around the well, leaning against the tap. "Looks like you've got a couple."

"You have much to offer this commune, Powder," Victor replied calmly.

That had struck a nerve in Jinx.  She pulled the tap so hard that a gear fell out and into the water.

Victor picked it up. "Your talents can be used to build, instead of destroy." He played with the gear in his fingers.

"I'll stick to what I know thanks."  She got up and started walking again.

Victor turned back to Vi. "My condition is that he must be restrained in the night. I've seen the harm of which he is capable."

Vi scoffed. "What do you think?" She asked Jinx.

Jinx stopped pacing again. "You actually want my opinion?"

Vi said nothing. Jinx climbed down from the well. "I hate fortune cookies." She signaled for Isha to follow her as they walked away.

Vi got up and walked over the Vander. "We're gonna get you out of there, Vander." She gently pressed her forehead against his own.

Vi and Jinx went off for an hour while Geo looked around the small urbanization. She still couldn't believe all of this was because of one person. Everywhere she went, kids played without fear, and adults talked and laughed. They shared food, they took care of one another. Everything she wanted the lanes to be growing up.

Vi came up behind her eating a fruit.

"Hey," Geo said.

"Hey," Vi replied.

They stood in silence for a while before Vi sighed. "Sorry, I've dragged you along on this whole Vander thing."

"No, no, I really don't mind." Geo sighed. "You're really lucky."

Vi snorted. "How?"

"You get a second chance with your parent." Geo looked into the distance trying not to think of her mother. "that's all I've ever wanted."

Vi placed a hand on Geo's cheek. "Hey. Look at me."

Geo met Vi's gaze.

"It's going to be ok."

Geo brought up her hand to Vi's. She then saw something past Vi's shoulder. Vi turned around to see what she was looking at.

It was a spear in the ground with a small red flag attached to it, billowing in the wind.
