Diamond Within - Vi x OC

Chapter 6

As the morning light filtered through the sheer curtains of the room Geo slowly got up from the bed rubbing her eyes. She looked to see Vi next to her sound asleep.

She quietly made her way to the small bathroom attached to the room. Once inside, she turned on the faucet and splashed cold water onto her face, relishing the coolness against her skin. After drying her face, Geo looked at herself in the mirror.

She studied her reflection, the paleness of her skin, the paleness of her hair, and the sadness in her eyes. There was an old soul beneath the youthful exterior, a result of the years spent toughening up on the streets of Zaun.

Geo then heard a sound coming from the bedroom. She opened the door and saw Vi strangling Jinx by the throat. 

"What's going on?" Geo gasped, her hand reaching for her gun on the floor. 

"She somehow snuck into our room," Vi seethed. 

Geo recalled what Vi had told her the night before about her sister. 

"Vi—" Jinx struggled to catch her breath. 

Vi hesitated for a moment before releasing Jinx. 

Jinx gasped for air. "What is it with you and choking people?" 

Vi scowled. "What do you want? Why did you follow us?" 

"I tried telling you yesterday before you started attacking me!" Jinx huffed. Geo looked puzzled; Jinx didn't seem like the most dangerous criminal in Zaun at all. 

"Okay then, tell me now," Vi demanded, crossing her arms. 

"Vander is alive." 

That caught Vi off guard, but she quickly scowled again. "You and I both know that's bullshit." 

"I can prove it." 

Vi looked at Geo, who met her gaze with a question in her eyes. 

Who the hell is Vander?

Geo found herself walking in an underground mine beside Vi, led by Jinx and the same girl from before that Jinx introduced as Isha.

There were glowing orbs all around them that glowed brighter with noise. Geo couldn't help but be in awe. She saw Jinx even put one in her mouth, much to her disgust.

"Why would Vander be all the way down here?" Vi asked skeptically.

"Beats me," Jinx kept walking. "Ask him yourself"

Vi scoffed. "When will you admit this is just one of your fantasies?" Vi glanced at Isha. "Or do you not want the kid to know how delusional you are?"

Geo looked between the two girls.

"She wasn't always like this," Jinx whispered to Isha but loud enough for all of us to hear. "She actually used to be pretty cool, before I kicked her butt."

Vi rolled her eyes. "See what I mean?" She stopped walking. "Delusional."

Jinx stopped walking too. "Wish I was just seeing things when you decided to throw in with Piltie goons who murdered Mom and Dad." 

Geo froze. Vi had been an enforcer too. Guess there was more to her than the conversation they had last night.

"Well, at least they never had to see the psycho their daughter turned into." Vi gnashed her teeth.

"Which one?" Jinx asked. "Wake up sis, I'm a hero." She smiled. "I busted half of Zaun out of Stillwater, while you were cozying up to silver fox over there." she gestured to Geo, smile gone. "Now can it and keep it walking, before I kick your ass again."

Vi glared at her. "You wouldn't last one second without your ugly gadgets and chickenshit tricks."

"Ha!" Jinx looked amused. "What about those overdesigned bitch-mittens, you didn't even build yourself?" Jinx scoffed.

Vi kept her gaze on Jinx. Geo cringed. this wasn't going to end well.

 Vi's gauntlets fell to the ground. "You think I need these to-" She never got to finish her sentence before a hand struck her across the cheek.

"There. One second" Jinx placed her hands on her hip.

Geo blinked. how had she gotten there so fast?

Jinx turned and started walking but Vi grabbed one of her long braids and yanked. Hard. They both ended up on the floor fighting each other.

"Last chance to surrender," Vi said as she struggled to keep Jinx under her.

"Go right ahead, Fat Hands!" Jinx exclaimed. 

Geo couldn't help but roll her eyes. These two were supposed to be dangerous? 

"Ok, you two." Geo tried to intersect by pulling Vi off of Jinx, but she was too busy fighting Jinx.

Isha ran up to them and climbed Vi's back. She started to hit her on the back of her head. It was a chaos of limbs and attacks. Isha then bit Vi's arm and she yelled as she smacked her away so she went flying across. 

Geo ran to the little girl and Jinx and Vi stopped fighting.

"Hey, you alright?" Geo asked.

The little girl nodded as she wiped the blood coming from her nose. Geo then noticed her hair. How it was poorly dyed blue and at the back were two tiny braids. Like Jinx. Geo grabbed her hat and placed it on Isha's head. Jinx ran to them and gave Geo a curious look before snatching Isha. 

"Got all your insides?" Jinx asked as she tilted Isha's hat.

The little girl shrugged in response. 

Geo got up and walked over to Vi. Isha grabbed Jinx's hand and led her forward. Geo looked over to Vi. 

"Hey, you good?" 

Vi met her gaze and grabbed her gauntlets. "Yeah." 

Isha gestured to Jinx down a path and Jinx nodded. 

"But don't ditch us!" She called out as the little girl rushed down the cave.

"Why'd you come to get me?" Vi asked Jinx. "You don't actually need my help," Vi pauses. "You haven't for a long time." She adjusts her gauntlets.

Jinx slowly turns. "Last time Vander needed us, we tried it alone, and nothing was ever the same. So," She scoffed. "Maybe this is like a do-over." She faces her fully. "Besides, he's your father too."

Vi's face softened a little. She grabbed Geo's hand with her massive gauntlet and they both walked past Jinx. Geo glanced back as Jinx followed behind them.
