Part 24 - Saving Chloe

Chloe pov:

We were really trapped in Wonderland, and Red looked very pissed. My heart was pounding on the way back to the castle. I was too scared to even talk. I could hear her grunting in anger as she was thinking. Once back to the castle, Red ordered me to follow her. She went inside and grabbed something before leaving the castle and going somewhere in town.

Chloe: Where are we going?

Red: going to see Maddox.

After 5 minutes of angry walking, we made it to where Maddox lived. He opened the door and let us in.

Maddox: I thought you were going to Auradon for your project.

Red: We're locked in Wonderland, and I'm looking at it here.

Red said, pacing around as she huffed those words out of her mouth.

Maddox: Oh no. That's not good at all.

Red: I go to Wonderland for 1 day, and Mal suddenly thinks she can go back to be the queen of Auradon while my mom is still in a coma. She broke the contract, and we had an agreement we both signed.

She was still pacing around.

Maddox: Calm no first Red, it's hard to think clearly when you're angry like this.

Red: idk how I can possibly calm down right now. Mad, I am beyond the tipping point.

Red lets out an uncontrolled high pitch laugh before stopping herself mid way. She walked over to a wall and punched it in anger.

Maddo: Don't fuel the fire. Red.

She gave him a dirty look. I then got an idea. It was a bold idea, but it might just work. As she was pacing and she got close enough to me, I quickly wrapped my arms around her waist. It caught her off guard. I then hugged her tighter once I got her where I wanted. She tried to lean back and push me away, but I didn't budge.

Red: Chloe, get off.

Chloe: No.

She tried to push me away again, but it felt weaker this time. I pressed my chest against hers as her pushing me off just got weaker til she just gave up, letting her arms fall for a moment before wrapping her arms around me and resting her chin on my shoulder. I then rubbed her back. I could hear her let out a little soothed whimper as she hugged me tighter. I smiled as I saw Maddox watching everything we did. He was also smiling.

Chloe: it's going to be ok. Red. We are gonna get you to Auradon again. I promise.

After a moment, Red gently pulled away from the hug as I let her go.

Red: Chloe, why do you want me back in Auradon? I'm nothing but a bad ruler, just like my mom. I thought going to Auradon would give me a new happier life, but it's honestly been miserable and exhausting. I don't want to be locked here again. I was so happy when I got that invitation because I knew I would have a chance to get out of Wonderland and to have control of my life. Now I lost it all again. Why was I so stupid for coming here. I should've just stayed in Auradon where I was safe from being locked in.

Chloe: it's not your fault. Red. you just did what you thought was right as leader and heir.

Red: But now, because of me, you're locked in here too.... you don't deserve being locked in Wonderland. You belong in Auradon like all the rest of the goody Teo shoe princesses.

Chloe: Well, I'm happy I'm locked in here with you.

She looked at me quite puzzled.

Red: Why? I'm nothing but evil.
