Part 4 - The Rulebook

Chloe pov:

She then got up from the table. I got so mad I got up and ran to her. I snatched the tazer from her pocket before her guards even noticed and pressed it against her side. She turned her head, but there was no reaction. Her guards almost got me before Red signaled them to stand back.

Chloe: What the? Does this thing even work?

Red: No, it does...

I then gently zapped my finger before yelping in pain again.

Chloe: ow! that really hurt.

After kissing my finger better from the pain. I placed it against her again. No reaction. I swear it's on why isn't she feeling pain? After a few failed attempts, she then grabs it from my hand and turns it on and shows me her zapping her own arm with a small neck tilt of a flinch.

Red: If you're going to try and hurt me, maybe make sure your method works first, tazers don't affect me anymore.

She grunts.

Red: Maybe you should focus on following your little rulebook instead.

She then puts it back in her pocket before speaking.

Red: If anyone in this room snitches to the Queen about what you all saw here today, you will all be punished!

I watched as she slowly walked out of the cafeteria with an annoyed yet serious expression on her face. I just stood there confused and shocked. What does she mean by "tazers don't affect me anymore."  I then decide to head to our dorm. I then sat down on my bed and started reading the book. The first thing was a big warning label. Reading "Any and all crimes committed will be punished accordingly." I then start to read the list of rules.

Rule 1: You must respect your superiors at all times.

Rule 2: You must obey your superiors at all times.

Rule 3: You must always give attention to your superiors unless said otherwise.

Rule 4: You must wait until your superiors dismiss you when spoken to.

Rule 5: You must never attack or cause harm to your superiors.

Rule 6: You must never threaten your superiors.

Rule 7: You must always always call your superiors by their royal title.

Rule 8: You must never miss mandatory curfews or events.

Rules 9: You must stay 1 meter away from your superiors unless asked otherwise.

Rule 10: You must never evade any punishment.

I then closed the book. What have I done... I never break the rules. Never in my entire life have I broken a rule before. I then see Red come out for the washroom.

Red: I see you read the book. That's good.

Chloe: No, it's not, I broke like 4 of them.... I never break the rules.

Red: ok, but you still got a punishment.... an actual good one for the rules you did break.

Chloe: What do you mean?

She then walks to me and takes my book and opens it, and starts to read it aloud.

Red: The more rules you break at once, the harsher the punishment.

She then showed me the page.

Red: You broke 4 at once and only got tazed for 5 seconds.... do you realize how lucky that is?

She closes the book and hands it back before walking to her bed and lying down.

Red: If you were anyone else, you'd be immediately put into a guillotine.
