Part 15 - The Cards

Red pov:

We're back in our dorm. I sat on my bed to try and compose myself for a moment.

Chloe: i have so many questions.

Red: Chloe, save them for tmr it's late.

Chloe: You just saved the former queen, Red. That's a big deal.

Red: What?

Chloe: the woman with purple hair you were sitting next to? That's Mal, who used to be queen of Auradon alongside Ben, who was king.

I tilted my head in confusion before getting up and walking out on the balcony and seeing them still standing there. I saved the former queen and didn't even know who it was. I saw Chloe come up beside me.

Chloe: You did a good thing, Red.

I turn my head to face her.

Red: Yet no one can even know about it.... all the students are still scared of me. No matter what I do, I'm just seen as the mean girl.

I walk past her and go right to bed.

Red: goodnight Chloe, let's just hope we're both still alive tomorrow.

I then fell asleep rather quickly after that. After a good night's rest, I woke up at about 11 am. I sat up and rubbed my eyes before noticing Chloe wasn't there. I got out of bed and got dressed. I went to eat lunch as all the students took a step back. I made it to my table and started to eat when I noticed Chloe walking in. She got her food and was stopped in front of my table by another student.

Student: Don't sit with her. She's evil.

Chloe then looks at me, who has noticed the whole conversation. Another student also spoke up.

Student: Yeah, if you sit with her, your reputation is over.

Chloe noticed my facial expression as I was waiting for her response.

Chloe: Well, you don't know her like I do so.

Chloe then walks up the platform and puts her tray down, still facing the students.

Chloe: Also, I don't really care about your opinion. I will sit with whoever I want.

She then sits down, ignoring the students.

Red: You don't have to sit with me, Chloe, go sit with your friends.

Chloe: they aren't my friends, just some random students..... how's your morning?

Red: Well, other than every student too afraid to be within 2 meters from me, nothing much.

Chloe: I'm sorry, Red.

Red: Chloe, you didn't do anything.

Chloe: Here, let's talk about something else then.

I cut her off after she said that.

Red: I want to learn about the history of Auradon and who Mal and the other were.

I can see a smile grow on her face.

Chloe: Then I'm just the student you need. I know a ton about all that. We can go to the library. I'm sure they got books and such there.

Red: After we eat, can we go?

She nods, we spent lunch just talking and getting to know a little more out each other. She did try to ask questions about yesterday, but I didn't give in. I'm not ready to talk about my past, not to her, at least. After lunch, we got up and headed to the library where, again, all the students were keeping their distance. Once there, Chloe led me all the way to the history section as we tried to find a book. 5 minutes later, we finally found the book we were looking for. It was a big book that was all about Mal and the others story throughout the years. We sat at a table, and Chloe started to read it aloud while also adding what she knew into the mix. It was alright and pretty interesting. We made it to 3 chapters before I realized something.
