Chloe pov:
I was looking at Red read the letter I had prepared when we left for Wonderland. I used slightly different handwriting than my usual print so she wouldn't know it was me right away. The last 2 gestures I did seemed to be too tamed, and she thought it was only someone being friendly. I think I need to step it up. I hope this letter can help clear up. I see her walking over to me and handing it.
Chloe: Why are you giving me the letter?
Red: I think you might be right....
I read the letter and I smiled.
Chloe: I am right, they totally like you..... but like, how do you feel about all this?
Red: I mean, I guess it's nice, I never really got anything other than my mom's cards. But the fact that I don't even know who it is makes me a little uneasy.... what if this is just a joke or something or a prank?
Chloe: Well, you gotten try and find out who it is then, maybe you can send them something in return.
Red: How can I send something to someone if I don't even know who.
Chloe: Oh, right..... maybe they'll give like clues or something. A lot of times in the movies, they send little Suttle clues on who they are.
Red: Why do you always compare this to movies?
Chloe: because most every teen has seen some kind of movie where this sorta thing happens. Secret love seems to be quite the hype in high school.
Red: Well, I guess the letters seem to give me the most info yet.
Red then grabs the letter back from me and puts it in her nightstand.
I knew I had to do more. So later that night when Red was going to bed I pretended like I was reading my book when I was really writing a new letter for her. I'll put it in her locker, and maybe I'll get to see her reaction. I went to bed, and in the morning, before heading to class, I put the letter on her locker. After class, I hid near her locker. I saw her notice it and opened it. I then see her look around, then put the letter in her pocket. I have no clue what she's thinking about, but I hope it's good. After school, I went to fencing like normal before calling a local shop to deliver a box of chocolates. When I came back from practice, she was sitting on her bed just staring at the box. I walk over to her and see the box.
Chloe: Oh, you got more stuff?
Red: What's this?
I then look at the box she was holding all confused.
Chloe: chocolates?
Red: I've never heard of it.
Chloe: You've never heard of chocolate? It's like the beat food in the world. It's like the best sweet treat anyone can get.
Red: My mom always said that treats were for the weak.
Chloe: Well then, you have to try some. Here, take one.
Red then opens the box and looks at the different kinds before picking a heart-shaped one and taking a bite. Her face lit up with joy before her eyes fluttered as she ate it.
Chloe: told you it's the best food ever. How was it.
Red: it's really, really good. I like it a lot.
Chloe: I'm glad you like it, I mean, who doesn't love chocolate.
Red: My mom.
Chloe: Well, she's an abusive psycho who's in a coma right now.
I then went to shower and did my happy dance in the bathroom where Red couldn't see my excitement. I felt so bold saying that to Red. She didn't seem mad at me for calling her mom a raging psychopath. My shower felt so nice as always. The most relaxing time of the day. We then headed down the stairs. When we got to our table for supper to eat, Red gave me another letter.
Chloe: another one? Why are you making me read these? They are for you, not me.
Red: we you're the one who knows about this sorta thing.
I agreeably shrugged before reading it.
Secret admirer: Hi Red, it's me again. I'm glad you're back from Wonderland. I was wondering why I didn't see your red hair in class the other day. I might be too shy to speak to you in person, but I thought I would give you a little hint as to who I am. I'm in your class, and I don't usually sit near you. I also wanted to let you know that I think you're pretty cool and that my feelings for you have grown when I saw you come back.
Chloe: Oh, it looks like they did give you a hint after all. I knew it.
I said all happily. I had to play like it wasn't me.
Red: a very vague hint.
Chloe: Well, they did say they don't sit near you, so I guess that's a start..... I mean, when you do find out who it is, what will you tell them?
Red: no idea yet..... as much as this is strange to me, I kinda like the fact that someone likes me. I mean, I never got any of these things, so it's nice to get them. I still can't let myself become soft. My mom can't find out about this.
I walked over a little closer.
Chloe: Your mom isn't here right now. Red, I think you should take advantage and see where this takes you. You might just end up liking it more than you think.
We then spent the rest of the evening eating the chocolates and went to bed. I woke up to a noise at like 2 in the morning. I then looked around in the dark, trying to figure out what that noise was til I realized it was Red making the noise. I quietly got out of my bed and slowly walked to her. The moonlight lit up Red's face enough for me to see her clearly. I leaned over to look at her face, thinking she was awake, but no. This girl was crying in her sleep. Tears slowly fell out of her eyes as her arms were pressed against her chest and her hair draping perfectly against her body. I didn't even know you could cry in your sleep. I thought it was a silly "it can't actually happen" phrase people said for fun. I felt bad for her, I hate seeing anyone cry, but I've never seen Red cry. It hurts more for some reason. I could feel my heart feel tighter as I looked down at the crying girl. I then got an idea and walked to my closet where I had a stuffed animal I was hiding. Not many highschoolers have them. I thought it would be embarrassing to have it out. It was a stuffed white rabbit with its arms out. I then grabbed it and walked I over to Red as I took a few deep breaths as I kneeled over in front of her. After looking at the rabbit for a bit, then Red, hesitating if I should be doing this. I then made up my mind. I don't care if she finds out about it tomorrow morning, I think her having it right now is much more important. I then held the rabbit in one hand and I very slowly and carefully grabbed Red's wrist and lifted it up giving it just enough room for me to sneak the rabbit in her arms before pressing the rabbit on her chest like a hug and placing her hand back making her hug the rabbit. I let go and quietly stood up. I watched her hug the stuffie for a little longer, more seeing if this worked. I could notice fewer tears falling from her eyes, her breathing slowing down and her even squeezing the rabbit as she leaned her head against its head. I could help but smile at the sight of the princess of Hearts being so adorable. She's way less scary when she sleeps. I then slowly backed away and headed back to my bed as I then rolled over and fell back asleep.
