Featherpaw, doy ou promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from clan rivary and protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"Moonblossom's voice echoed in the tunnel, waiting patiently for her apprentice's reply, meanwhile, Featherpaw never felt so sure that she belonged here, with the others, and she meowed"I do" her mentor continued,"Then by the powers of starclan i announce you a medicine cat apprentice, serve your clan well Featherpaw, hard times are up ahead." her vice softened "press your nose to it" she told Featherpaw, who obeyed, laying down beside Silverpaw and closed her eyes, her nose touching the sparkling waters of the moonpool...
Suddenly, bright light flashed, it was unusual since usually she couldn't see things like that but she opened her eyes, expecting the darkness she was now use to, but instead, she could see! A luscious green meadow in front of her, with cats, cats with stars in their fur, it was wonderful! Then, a tortoiseshell she-cat approached her, nervously, she mewed"W-who are you?" Featherpaw was still getting use to being able to see the other cats, so this is what it's like to be able to see, she thought, secretly glad she could experience it. "Young Featherpaw, I am Dapplemist, the medicine cat before your mentor." Featherpaw paused, thinking about what that made this cat, "So your my mentor's mentor?" she asked, tilting her head in questioning. "Yes little one, and I'm here to tell you that hard times are coming, you will face secrets you wished had never happened, just remember, no matter what happens, we will always be beside you." after that, the meadow began to fade and Dapplemist vanished, leaving Featherpaw alone.
Waking up, she opened her eyes, everything was dark again but she didn't really mind anymore, she was glad for what she had, but what Dapplemist said about secrets... she wasn't sure. "How was it?" Moonblossom's voice sounded, pulling her back to the present. "It was so brilliant! I could-" Featherpaw started, before her mentor put her tail across Featherpaw's mouth "Hush, we'll talk about it later. Let's go home." Featherpaw nodded, wondering why she couldn't talk about it but said nothing but waved her tail at Silverpaw and set of after her mentor, bracing herself for a long way home.
