Featherpaw woke in the middle of the night, she had heard Dapplemist's voice in her sleep, she had to tell her mentor about the prophecy, limping quietly up to Moonblossom and using her unbroken front paw to gently shake her mentor awake, and luckily, it worked, drowsily, the medicine cat murmured "Featherpaw, is that you? Do you need something?" Featherpaw shoock her head and lead her mentor to the entrance of the medicine den and started "I got a prophecy." she admitted quietly, receiving a gasp of shock from her mentor "I didn't expect that..." she murmured gently, licking Featherpaw's ear comfortingly "What was it?" Moonblosom asked. Featherpaw shakily repeated the words from Dapplemist she heard so many moons ago quietly "First comes the fall of white, a great secret revealed, then the rush of water, a sweep of shadow, the vines will attack, the fire will consume and light will disappear until a feather appears to destroy the spirit's evil claw." she told her mentor. "And it's already started." she added. Moonblossom nodded and guided her apprentice closer to her with her tail and whispered "I have a secret to tell you to." she meowed, Featherpaw pricked her ears, although it wasn't what she expected. "Flowermist is not your true mother Featherpaw," the medicine cat nuzzled the younger cat gently, "Who is my mother then? I want to know!" Featherpaw wailed, suddenly realizing that she had been lied to her whole life, but the answer to her question... was not what she expected "Featherpaw, I'm not ashamed to admit it, I could never wish it hadn't happened. I am your mother Featherpaw." Featherpaw's heart skipped a beat as the great secret was revealed, nodding and nuzzling her mentor, to Moonblossom's surprise, Featherpaw purred. "Thank you for telling me Moonblossom, thank you. Now I know what the prophecy means."
The next day Featherpaw woke feeling a lot better, she had to tell her mentor what the prophecy meant! Lifting her broken leg of the floor as she pushed herself out of her nest, she walked steadily over to her mentor and sat there, delighted to find that her injured leg wasn't hurting as much anymore. Soon after Moonblossom woke, looking at Featherpaw. "Are you going to tell me what the prophecy meant? Because Starclan confirmed it with me last night that you were sent it." Featherpaw nodded and began explaining. "First comes a fall of white, that's the blizzard that stopped us from going to the moonpool for four moons since it froze over, a great secret revealed, that's what you told me last night, about you being my mother. That's everything that's happened so far, also, it's been raining a lot in the past quarter moon, so I think that the rush of water means a flood!" Moonblossom nodded in approval, "That makes sense, should we tell Violetstar?" Featherpaw nodded and with her mentor's help they went over to the leader's den, luckily, Violetstar was there already, when she saw Featherpaw and her mentor, Violetstar led them into her den and meowed "What's wrong?" she asked, Moonblossom nodded at her apprentice and Featherpaw sat down in front of her leader and began retelling the story of the prophecy, last night and the secret. Violetstar's eyes clouded with worry as she heard about the secret, "That one?" she asked, when Moonblossom nodded Featherpaw realized with a jolt that Violetstar was her mentor and her mother-, no, Cloudpaw and Amberpaw's mother's mother. "How do you know?" Moonblossom asked and to Featherpaw's astonishment, Violetstar purred in amusement, "I'm your mother Moonblossom, even if you are my medicine cat, did you really think that Dapplemist didn't tell me?" Featherpaw tensed at the subject of her Starclan mentor, but she let out a sigh of relief when her mentor explained quickly "My former mentor is Featherpaw's starclan mentor." Violetstar purred in approval and commented what a good cat Dapplemist was, after that. The two she-cats, mother and daughter, left.
"You know you were born like, two moons later than your foster littermates." Moonblossom told her apprentice, now that the secret was out Moonblossom knew that her apprentice, unlike what she expected, liked to hear about the truth of her kithood. "So I'm apprenticed early?" Featherpaw asked. Moonblossom nodded, suddenly forgetting that her daughter was blind, Featherpaw looked at her mentor with blind, sky-blue eyes in confusion when she heard no reply, after she saw the look the young cat gave her, she hurriedly meowed "Yes, that right." Featherpaw nodded and nuzzled her mother gratefully , Moonblossom purred, maybe the secret wasn't so bad after all, since her apprentice knew about it, the two had been even closer then they were before. "You know, we can finally go to the gathering tonight!" Featherpaw purred, happy to see Silvercloud and all the other clans since the snow started to melt and they could finally make the journey.
