"Willowfur, Stormpelt, Heathersong, Swiftfeather, Flowermist, Nightcloud, Skypelt, Amberpaw, Birdsong, Cloudpaw, Fernleaf, Featherpaw, Moonblossom." Violetstar announced. Featherpaw's heart skipped a beat as she heard her name, along with her sisters and mother! They were going to their first gathering together and she could see Silverpaw again, since her mentor had told her that the medicine cats always go as long as there's no emergency. Setting of behind her mentor, following the scents of her clan, they started their journey toward the gathering island.
When they arrived Featherpaw was surprised she wasn't very tired, she guessed it was since going to the moonstone was much further than this, after going over to her mother and sisters to tell them where she went, she followerd her mentor towards the other medicine cats sitting below the tree, opening her mouth to try locate Silverpaw's scent. After locating Silverpaw, she trotted over, her tail high in greeting, "Hi Featherpaw" Silverpaw mewed, and Featherpaw waved her tail in reply and went over to sit beside her friend. As soon as she sat down, Riverclan's leader, Streamstar, started talking. "Riverclan is well, the river has plenty of fish this green-leaf, and mossheart gave recently gave birth to two healthy kits, greykit and swirlkit." after Streamstar's talk, a voice she knew very well spoke, it was violetstar's turn. "The prey is coming out of their nests and Flowermist's kits have become apprentices, Cloudpaw is now Fernleaf's apprentice, Amberpaw is Birdsong's apprentice, and we have a new medicine cat apprentice, Moonblossom has taken on Featherpaw as her apprentice and all three of them are doing well!" A cheer spread out through the clans, Silverpaw beside her eagerly chanting her and her sisters' new names with the others "Featherpaw! Cloudpaw! Amberpaw!" the sound erupted throughout the hollow, making Featherpaw's ears hurt, nervously, she flattened her ears, receiving concerned looks from Silverpaw and Moonblossom.
The rest of the gathering went quickly, and when it was time to go home, her ears were still ringing from all the cheers, and she felt uneasy inside. Flowermist obviously noticed but said nothing, since she just came over and gave her youngest kit a lick on the head and left her with Moonblossom.
Back at home, Featherpaw curled up in her nest, unable to sleep, her ears still hurt from all the yowling back at the island, to her surprise, her mentor's soft fur pressed to hers and her soft voice sounded, quieter than usual "Featherpaw are you ok?" she murmured, making Featherpaw remember the times she came here as a kit. "It was so loud, my ears hurt" she told her mentor. "Oh Featherpaw, I didn't realize it would effect you so much" her mentor gave her a comforting lick and continued "I know you don't like talking about it but you being blind makes your other senses, like hearing, stronger than others." her mentor told her, "but I didn't realize it would be that bad." Moonblossom admitted. Curled up beside her mentor, listening to the gentle purring of the medicine cat soothing her to sleep, finally silencing the sound in her ears a small thought crossed her mind, did she hear a motherly tone there, but let herself be lulled to sleep but annoyingly, a dream came to her.
Author's note: I'm sorry I didn't include the alliances but Featherpaw is meant to be a small, silver tabby she-cat with sky blue, blind eyes and is patient and gentle. Moonblossom is also a silver tabby she-cat with sky blue eyes and is gentle and motherly, read on to find out why, because there is some hidden history between mentor and apprentice. Amberpaw is a ginger tabby she-cat with green eyes and Cloudpaw is a snowy white she-cat with lake blue eyes, meanwhile Flowermist is a tortoiseshell she-cat with warm, amber eyes, Flowermist is also Moonblossom's sister and her mate is Whitecloud, a White tom with green eyes while Violetstar is basically my version of violetshine, so she's a white she-cat with black patches and amber eyes, she is also Moonblossom and Flowermist's mother. That's basically it about Featherpaw's family but I'll add bits of the other characters appearance further in the book.
