It had been raining hard for an entire three days, the day after Cloudust and Ambersong's ceremony, Featherpaw started doubting whether they would make it to the Moonpool at half-moon, barley any cat's eaten anything since all the prey went into their nests and it was to wet to even leave the nests, let alone make a journey to the Moonpool, plus, if it kept going like this until half moon, the water would probably be up to even the largest warrior's flanks, let alone an undersized cat like her. Most of the clan's had to evacuate into the higher areas of camp yesterday when the dens started leaking, most of the senior warriors went into the empty nursery and the newer warriors were in the also empty apprentices den, the apprentice's den had also been empty since Cloudust and Ambersong moved out and the camp felt strangely empty, not no mention Flowermist's weird behavior these days which was making some cats scared. The elders had moved over to the medicine den, Goldenheart and Stormpelt had moved their nests to join the two medicine cats due to their den having leaks since it was in the edge of the clearing, Violetstar was lucky that she had her den in the back wall of the top of the highrock and that wouldn't get flooded, although the bad thing is that Featherpaw had noticed that Heathersong and Blazefur have been very close lately and her mentor said that Heathersong was looking plump even with so less fresh-kill, reluctantly, Featherpaw followed her instincts and called to her mentor "I'm going to check on Heathersong, I think I know what's wrong!" Moonblossom purred, "I knew you would find the answer! Your a clever cat my apprentice." Despite the rain and the water lapping at her paws, she found that she didn't mind getting wet so much, strangely, the water just runs of her sleek, silver pelt and that means she doesn't get to wet. She paused, normally, she would be happy that she wasn't soaked but this time she started wondering about her father, who was he? Which clan? Ducking into the apprentices den where Heathersong was, she tasted the air and located Heathersong next to Blazefur, she guessed the two were lying together. "Heathersong, could you come over to the medicine den for a moment?" Heathersong nodded and followed the medicine cat apprentice, even if she couldn't see Heathersong nod, Featherpaw could sense that the older warrior was following her and the two went back to the medicine den.
"Heathersong, your expecting kits!" Featherpaw told her, any other time, she would be happy but now, she was worried, with the prophecy taking place who knows what these kits would go through but now matter what she would protect them. Moonblossom gaped at her apprentice, befuddled, how did the young cat figure that out so fast? As Heathersong left the den, purring, Moonblossom told her to go to the nursery for now with whoever the father was. When the heather coloured she-cat Featherpaw's mentor laughed a little and ushered Heathersong of to the nursery, turning to her apprentice, the medicine cat asked, "How did you figure that out so fast?" Featherpaw thought about it, she wasn't sure how to explain but she tried anyway. "I think Heathersong had been expecting for a while now, I could smell milk scent on her, very faint but it's there, I guess you can't smell it?" Moonblossom admitted she couldn't and when the confusion was passed Featherpaw asked quietly, "Who is my father?"Moonblossom paused, and admitted, "I can't ever wish I didn't have a lovely kit like you but I shouldn't have done this, your father is Reedcloud of Riverclan." Featherpaw nodded, making a mental note to ask Silvercloud who he was and also tell her practically best friend about the secret.
Flowermist POV:
It was finally night, she was in the nursery with the other older warriors getting ready to sleep, everyone was thin and their ribs were showing, especially Violetstar, her sister Moonblossom and adopted daughter Featherpaw, the three of them had saved every morsel of food for the cats who need it. No matter now, it was time for Flowermist to go to the dark forest, they would start battle training today, closing her eyes, the tortoiseshell she-cat easily dreamed herself to the place of no stars. Upon arrival, Darkclaw greeted her for a growl, "Hurry up, your late, Spiritclaw is waiting." Flowermist dipped her head and followed her dark forest mentor to a murky clearing in the center of the forest. Spiritclaw was the leader of the dark forest, the most evil of them all. "Today we will do battle training," he growled, "Stoneheart and I will demonstrate." Stoneheart was practically Spiritclaw's deputy. The two were circling each other, poised to strike, Flowermist noticed that their claws were unsheathed and sharp, ready to tear one another apart. Flowermist shivered, in thunderclan training was with claws sheathed but the tortoiseshell she-cat said nothing, only to carry watching. After they finished Stoneheart came over and growled, "Your up against Spirtclaw" Flowermist gulped, the dark forest leader was strong and pretty much twice her size. Nervously she shifted to face the leader, he had a hideous scar from his throat to his belly. Quaking with fear, Flowermist leapt at Spiritclaw, she had one chance, and one only...
