The world was changing rapidly. What started as a quiet childhood corner of the playground—Rin practicing his soccer moves while you sketched, a friendship budding without either of you realizing—had led to something far more complicated. You were no longer just a quiet observer; you were a player in this high-stakes game.

You were heading into Blue Lock.

The Japanese Football Union had chosen you as the only female player to enter the program. Everyone else was male, but your skill had spoken for itself, earning you a place among the country's most talented soccer players. But that wasn't what had you feeling uneasy.

What made you hesitate was the looming knowledge of Rin Itoshi's presence there.

The last time you'd seen him had been just after his failure at the first selection—a bitter memory that gnawed at you, because despite everything, you knew Rin hadn't wanted to fail. And now, there you were, standing at the precipice of this brutal program, knowing that things would change between you two—whether you liked it or not.

And yet... something else lingered beneath the surface. Something you hadn't quite been able to pinpoint.

"Hey, [Your Name]."

You turned around to find Rin standing a few feet away, his expression unreadable but his gaze soft, almost cautious. The way he always carried himself—like a quiet storm, waiting for the right moment to erupt—was still there, but there was a tension between you two now that wasn't there before.

"Rin," you said with a smile, trying to mask the nervousness that fluttered in your chest. "I didn't expect to see you here."

"You think I wouldn't come?" he asked, his voice smooth as always but with an edge of something softer beneath it. "I know you're good. And I know how you work."

His words hung between you two. Rin Itoshi wasn't one to admit things easily, yet he was speaking with an openness that was rare for him. You could feel his eyes tracing over you, taking in your every movement, almost like he was trying to read something in you that he didn't understand.

"I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult," you replied, a teasing smile tugging at your lips, hoping to break the heavy atmosphere.

Rin smirked, but there was something more to it now. "You'll figure it out soon enough," he said. "So... what's it like being the only girl here?"

You hesitated, a slight blush creeping up your neck at the question. It was a point of tension for you—not because you were ashamed to be the only girl, but because you knew how the boys in Blue Lock might react. You knew how they'd look at you, sizing you up. But then again, you weren't here to play on their terms. You were here to show them that you belonged.

"It's... different," you admitted. "But I'm here to prove I can keep up."

Rin nodded, his eyes sharpening with an intensity that matched the one he always wore when facing a challenge. "You don't have to prove anything to me."

Your heart skipped a beat, but you pushed the feeling down, focusing on his words instead. "I'm not trying to prove anything to you, Rin."

There was a long, almost uncomfortable pause between you. Rin's eyes flickered with something unreadable, a storm of thoughts behind those teal irises. Then, with a faint but genuine smile, he nodded. "Alright. Let's see how you do."
