After the chaos of the accidental photo dump and the relentless teasing from your friends, life had mostly returned to normal. Or as normal as it could be when you were stuck in a group of competitive soccer players who thrived on chaos.

But Rin? Rin had been acting a little... different. Subtle, but noticeable to you. He was a bit more talkative (for Rin standards), a little less guarded, and—most surprisingly—he seemed to go out of his way to spend time with you.

You didn't mind, though. You liked having him around.

One day after practice, you were walking back to the dorms with Rin when he spoke up.

"Are you busy tomorrow?" he asked, his tone casual.

You glanced at him curiously. "Not really. Why?"

"There's a festival in town," he said, his hands shoved into his pockets. "I thought we could go. Just the two of us."

You blinked in surprise. Rin wasn't the type to ask people to hang out, let alone suggest something like a festival.

"Like... a date?" you teased, trying to gauge his reaction.

His ears turned pink, but his voice was steady as he replied, "Yeah. Like a date."

You froze for a moment, processing his words. Then, a grin spread across your face. "Sure, I'd love to."

The next day, Rin met you at the entrance to the festival grounds. He wasn't in his usual training gear, and the sight of him in casual clothes—jeans and a fitted hoodie—was a little disarming.

"You clean up well," you said with a grin.

"You don't look too bad yourself," he replied, a small smirk tugging at his lips.

The festival was vibrant and bustling with activity. Stalls lined the streets, offering everything from delicious food to handmade trinkets. The two of you wandered around, sampling snacks, playing games, and laughing more than you thought possible.

Rin even won you a small stuffed animal at one of the booths.

"Here," he said, handing it to you. "It looks like you."

You raised an eyebrow, holding up the oddly shaped cat plushie. "How does this look like me?"

"It's stubborn," he said simply, earning himself a light punch on the arm.

Just as you were starting to think this might be the perfect evening, you heard a familiar, overly enthusiastic voice.

"There they are!"

You turned to see Bachira, Chigiri, Isagi, and Nagi making their way toward you, all grinning like they'd just caught you committing a crime.

"Wow, you didn't tell us you were going on a date!" Bachira teased, winking at Rin.

"It wasn't a secret," Rin said calmly, though you could see the faintest hint of annoyance in his expression.

Chigiri smirked, crossing his arms. "Still, it's kind of cute seeing you two like this. Who knew Rin had a romantic side?"

"Should we leave them alone?" Isagi asked, pretending to be thoughtful. "Or should we stick around and make things awkward?"

"Definitely the second one," Bachira said with a laugh.

Despite the unexpected intrusion, the group ended up making the evening even more fun. You all played carnival games, took goofy photos, and tried every strange snack you could find.

At one point, Bachira convinced Rin to try a ridiculously spicy takoyaki, which ended with Rin calmly drinking water while everyone else cheered like he'd won a championship.

"You're no fun," Bachira pouted.

"You're an idiot," Rin shot back, though there was no real malice in his tone.

As the night went on, the teasing only got worse.

"So," Chigiri said as the group sat around a table, sharing cotton candy. "When's the wedding?"

"Don't start," you groaned, burying your face in your hands.

"Come on," Bachira said, grinning. "You can't blame us for being excited. You two are practically a couple already!"

You glanced at Rin, half-expecting him to roll his eyes or brush off the comment. Instead, he looked at you, his expression soft but serious.

"Maybe," he said quietly, so only you could hear.

Your heart skipped a beat, and you quickly looked away, hoping your face wasn't as red as it felt.

When the festival started winding down, the group finally gave you and Rin some space.

"Don't stay out too late, lovebirds!" Bachira called as they walked away, earning a glare from Rin and a laugh from you.

As you walked back toward the dorms, the night air cool and quiet, Rin spoke up again.

"Thanks for coming with me," he said, his voice soft.

"Of course," you said, smiling. "I had a great time."

Rin hesitated for a moment before adding, "We should do it again sometime."

You grinned, nudging his shoulder. "Are you asking me out on another date, Itoshi?"

"Maybe," he said, his lips twitching upward into a small smile.

And just like that, the teasing, the chaos, and even the accidental photo incident felt completely worth it.
