The evening was winding down, the cozy glow of the living room lamp casting soft shadows on the walls. The gentle hum of the TV filled the room as you and Rin sat on the couch, lazily watching The Princess and the Frog. The laughter and chatter of the movie faded into the background as the comfort of the moment settled around you both.

Your niece, still tired from the day's excitement, had curled up next to you, her small body snug beneath a soft blanket. Rin, who had insisted on keeping a watchful eye on her, sat with his arm around her shoulders. She was already sound asleep, her breathing steady, completely unaware of the world around her.

Rin's posture was relaxed, his usual confident demeanor softened by the gentleness of the moment. He glanced at you, catching the way you looked at him and your niece, and for a brief moment, there was a quiet understanding between the two of you.

"This is nice," you said softly, the warmth of the room and the comforting presence of Rin and your niece filling you with contentment. "It feels... peaceful."

Rin nodded, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he adjusted his position on the couch. "Yeah. I never thought I'd be the type for... family moments. But, here we are."

You smiled, your heart swelling at the thought. "You're good at it. You know that, right?"

He shot you a playful smirk. "I'm a quick learner."

Just as you were about to say something else, the sound of a small shuffle interrupted the calm. You looked over to see Rin's other niece—his younger sister's daughter—sneakily climbing onto the couch. She was still in her pajamas, her sleepy eyes barely open but her tiny hands reaching for the blanket beside you. Without a word, she plopped down beside Rin, snuggling in close to him with a soft yawn.

"Looks like we've got a full house tonight," you teased, glancing at Rin, who now had two small children asleep beside him.

"Guess I'm just that good with kids," Rin said with a grin, his voice low to avoid waking them. He wrapped an arm around both of the nieces, pulling them closer as they cuddled up to him. His usual stoic expression was replaced with something softer—a kind of contentment you rarely saw from him.

You couldn't help but smile at the sight. Rin, the quiet and often distant striker, was sitting there like a natural with two sleeping children in his arms. It wasn't something you expected to see, but it felt so... right.

Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed from the hallway. The door creaked open, and one by one, the members of the Blue Lock team walked in, talking animatedly among themselves. You recognized the familiar banter of Chigiri and Reo as they discussed something from their last training session, and Sae's voice followed, teasing them both.

"Okay, okay, I get it," Sae said with a smirk. "You two are practically married at this point. No need to rub it in."

Chigiri laughed, but his voice softened as he caught sight of the scene in the living room. The entire group stopped dead in their tracks, taking in the sight before them: Rin, with both of your nieces cuddled up in his arms, asleep on the couch. You, sitting contentedly next to him, watching the movie, with a gentle smile on your face.

There was a long silence, and then Reo, ever the instigator, raised an eyebrow. "Well, well, well. Looks like you two are really getting serious, huh?" he teased, his voice full of playful disbelief.

Sae smirked, crossing his arms. "Is this what I think it is? Are you two, like, a full-on family now?" He gave Rin a questioning glance.

Chigiri, who had taken a seat nearby, chuckled. "Are you two officially adopting? Because I'm starting to get majormarried couple vibes here."

You blushed, suddenly aware of how it must look—Rin, surrounded by two children, looking like the perfect father figure, and you sitting close beside him. The teasing from the group was overwhelming, but you couldn't help but feel a mix of embarrassment and affection.

Rin, on the other hand, seemed unbothered by their teasing. He merely shrugged, leaning back on the couch, still holding the sleeping girls. "It's just for today. We were babysitting," he said nonchalantly, but there was a small, almost imperceptible smile on his face as he spoke.

You giggled lightly at his attempt to downplay the situation. "Right. Just for today," you repeated, your voice full of affection.

The group didn't seem convinced.

"Oh sure," Reo said, clearly enjoying the moment. "You two are just 'babysitting.' Right. And when's the next family outing?"

Chigiri, not missing a beat, added, "I'll be sure to bring my camera. This moment needs to be captured."

Sae smirked and raised his phone. "Hold on, let me get a picture of this. You two, cuddled up with the kids... It's too perfect."

Before you could protest, Sae snapped a photo, the flash briefly illuminating the room. You couldn't help but laugh, but you also felt a little embarrassed. The teasing was relentless, but it also felt strangely comforting. It felt like you were part of something bigger—something more than just a team, or just a couple of people. There was something about this moment, with Rin, your nieces, and the teasing of your friends, that felt like it was all coming together in a way you hadn't expected.

After a few more jokes and teasing from the group, the mood lightened. Sae, realizing that he might be crossing a line, put his phone away and shrugged, "Alright, alright. I'll leave you two lovebirds to it. But seriously, if you're going to be this adorable, I need some warning next time. I can't handle all this cuteness."

Rin gave him a dry look but didn't respond. He glanced down at your niece and his own niece, both of them still peacefully asleep. The quiet moment between you and the group settled into a peaceful atmosphere. Rin was still holding both girls, their breathing steady and soft.

"I never thought I'd be here, you know," Rin said quietly, so only you could hear. "But it feels... nice. Being part of something bigger than just football."

You looked at him, catching the sincerity in his voice. "Yeah, it does," you agreed, your heart full. "I think we're starting to understand what it means to be a team off the field, too."

Rin nodded, his hand lightly brushing against your own as he adjusted his grip on the sleeping children. "I think we're starting to figure it out."

The group hung out for a little longer, sharing jokes and catching up on what had been going on in the Blue Lock world. The energy was different than usual. There was an underlying sense of family among the group now—something had shifted. You noticed it in the way they interacted with each other, and even in the way they teased Rin and you. It was no longer just about the competition or rivalry. It was about the bond they shared as a team, and the way you and Rin had somehow become part of it.

Eventually, the group made their way out, leaving you and Rin alone in the living room, the quiet of the night settling around you again.

"I think your friends are starting to get suspicious," you said with a laugh, playfully nudging him.

Rin chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Let them. It's not like we're hiding anything."

You smiled softly, feeling the weight of the moment settle in. "Yeah, I think you're right."

The two of you sat together, the quiet comfort of the evening wrapping around you like a warm blanket. Your nieces were still fast asleep, and for the first time in a while, it felt like the world outside didn't matter. Everything felt right. And for that moment, that was enough.

As you turned off the lights and prepared to head to bed, you caught a glimpse of Rin, his usual confidence replaced with something softer. Something more vulnerable. And as he reached for your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours, you realized that maybe, just maybe, this was the beginning of something even more significant than either of you had imagined.

"Good night," he whispered, a small smile tugging at his lips.

"Good night, Rin," you whispered back, your heart full as you drifted off to sleep beside him, knowing that whatever came next, you'd face it together.
