The days at Blue Lock continued to blur together as the relentless training wore on. The pressure to perform, to outdo everyone else, was suffocating. But amidst the chaos, something in you and Rin's relationship had shifted—slowly, imperceptibly. It was no longer just rivalry or camaraderie. There was a tension that hung in the air, a quiet understanding that neither of you had been able to articulate, but both of you felt deeply.

For weeks, you had been wrestling with the growing feelings you had for Rin. You couldn't deny it anymore—there was something about him, something that pulled at you. But the thought of confessing, of risking everything that had been built over the years, made your chest tighten with uncertainty. You didn't know if you were ready to expose your vulnerability, especially in a place as volatile as Blue Lock.

And as for Rin... well, it seemed like he was struggling with the same thing.

You were standing by the edge of the field again, taking a break after a grueling round of drills. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow across the pitch. Your teammates had already retreated to the locker rooms, but you and Rin remained—neither of you wanting to leave just yet.

Rin was leaning against a goalpost, his usual aloof expression in place, but there was something different about him today. His eyes kept flicking over to you, and every time they met yours, he quickly looked away, as if unsure of what to say. It was a behavior you were becoming all too familiar with.

You couldn't help but wonder—was he feeling the same way you were? Did he sense the tension between you two? Or was it all just in your head?

"Rin," you called, your voice breaking the silence. "You're acting weird."

He froze for a moment, then turned his head slowly to look at you. There was a subtle hesitation in his movements, as if he were gathering his thoughts before responding. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice smooth, but you could hear the underlying uncertainty.

"You know exactly what I mean," you teased, stepping closer to him. "You've been distant lately. Like you're trying to figure something out."

Rin remained silent for a moment, his eyes fixed on you as if contemplating whether to say something or keep quiet. You could see the internal struggle in his expression, the flicker of hesitation before he finally spoke.

"It's not that," Rin said quietly, his voice almost a whisper against the evening breeze. "I'm just... thinking."

"About what?" you pressed, your heart racing a little faster now.

He glanced at you briefly, and for a moment, you saw something in his eyes—a softness, a vulnerability—that took you by surprise. "I've been thinking about a lot of things," he said slowly. "But... mainly about how things are going here. How you're doing."

You furrowed your brow, unsure of what to make of his words. "What do you mean?"

Rin pushed himself off the goalpost, his posture tense as he walked toward you, his eyes fixed on the ground for a moment before they met yours again. "I'm... trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do here. What I'm supposed to feel."

The words hit you harder than you expected. Your mind raced, but you didn't say anything. Instead, you took a step forward, closing the distance between you, trying to make sense of his words.

"You're confusing me, Rin," you said softly, your voice almost a whisper. "We've been through so much together, and now..."

"Now everything feels different, doesn't it?" Rin finished for you, his voice tinged with something you couldn't quite place. "I don't know what's happening anymore. It's like..." He paused, searching for the right words. "It's like I'm starting to care about something I shouldn't."

Your heart skipped a beat. You had to resist the urge to ask him what he meant, to demand that he explain himself fully. But a part of you—one that had been silently waiting for this moment—knew exactly what he was trying to say.

You felt the same way. But was it enough to act on it? Was it even the right time?

"I think... I think I know what you mean," you said slowly, your voice trembling slightly. "I don't know what to do about it either."

Rin's gaze softened even more, and for a split second, you could see the conflict in his eyes. He wanted to say something, you could tell. He wanted to tell you exactly what was going through his mind, but something held him back.

"I just don't know if now's the right time," he admitted, the words heavy with hesitation. "I mean, we're both here for one reason—to be the best. Blue Lock doesn't leave room for anything else."

You nodded slowly, feeling the weight of his words. You had been thinking the same thing. This wasn't the place to act on personal feelings. This was a competition. Every day felt like a test, a battle to prove you were worthy of being the last man standing. And yet, despite all of that, something in you refused to let go of the feeling that there was more between you and Rin.

"I don't know if it's the right time either," you said softly, your voice barely audible against the quiet of the evening. "But I can't deny that... something's changed between us."

Rin didn't reply immediately. Instead, he let out a soft sigh, the frustration in his expression evident. "Yeah, I've noticed it too. But I'm not sure if this is something I should act on. I don't want to get distracted. I don't want to lose focus."

"Me neither," you agreed. "We have to keep our heads in the game. This is Blue Lock. If we let ourselves get distracted..."

"We'll lose," Rin finished your sentence. "Exactly."

There was a brief silence, the weight of your unspoken feelings hanging heavily in the air. You both understood the consequences of what could happen if you allowed yourselves to act on your emotions. But neither of you could ignore the quiet, persistent pull toward each other.

"I'll wait," Rin said, his voice steady but filled with an emotion you couldn't quite place. "I don't know if it's the right time, but... if there's ever a moment, I want to be ready. For whatever this is."

You looked at him, your heart beating louder in your chest. "I'll wait too," you whispered. "I don't want to rush into anything either. But..." You hesitated, your fingers lightly brushing his arm as you took a step closer. "Whatever happens, Rin... I don't want to lose you. Not now. Not ever."

He turned his gaze to meet yours, and for a brief moment, the world around you disappeared. The tension, the uncertainty, the pressure of Blue Lock—it all faded into the background. It was just the two of you, standing there in the golden light of the evening, uncertain but united in the quiet understanding that you weren't ready to let go.

Rin's lips parted slightly, as if he was going to say something more, but then, almost as if on instinct, he reached out and gently took your hand. It was subtle, almost imperceptible, but the warmth of his touch sent a rush of electricity through your veins.

"Let's get through this first," he said softly. "And then, maybe we'll figure it out. Together."

You nodded, your heart swelling with a mix of hope and uncertainty. Whatever this was—this connection between the two of you—it wasn't the right time to explore it fully. But neither of you were willing to walk away from it, either. You had both made a silent promise to wait for the right moment.

And until then, you would push forward in Blue Lock, side by side, with the knowledge that something real was waiting for you—whenever you were ready to face it.
