Chapter Seven

I stretched my arms as I looked at the sky. Today was the first day of track practice and I felt good this season.

"Everyone, can I get your attention?" Coach Min asked.

I looked up to see Lotus standing beside him in a Moon High track suit. I quickly stood up...no.

"This is Lotus, she will be apart of the Moon High Track team." He announced.

"Coach, she's not Moon High material."I objected.

"Didn't I beat you? Mr.Fastest runner on the team?" She asked.

Coach Min chuckled and shook his head.

"Everyone finish your warm ups, Kang come here." He said.

I sighed as I walked over to them. I didn't have to disrespect my teachers they knew what I was capable of. So for his own good this better be a good explanation.

"Coach, I'm the team captain." I said.

"Some team captain." Lotus mumbled.

"I know you're captain, but you can't deny that speed." He said.

I sighed and nodded, she was fast.

"Fine. Just stay out of my way maggot." I said.

She looked at me and scoffed, she walked away and removed her track suit. She wore shorts and a tee-shirt, the shorts were loose, but if she was trying to hide her figure it wasn't working. Once we finished our warm ups. We began our fifty meter run, no matter how fast I was, Lotus was faster.

"Fuck." I sighed.

"Stop competing with me, we're teammates." She said squatting down.

"Fuck you." I mumbled.

She put her hands up in a surrender position before walking over to the water table. I glanced at her and noticed the sweat beads dripping down her neck.

"Ok, let's try to practice our relays." Coach Min clapped.

I tore my eyes from Lotus and focused on the coach.

"As you all know relays aren't our strong suit. I have a good feeling this year, so I want Kang and Lotus as the first two-"

"Uh uh." Lotus said.

"Trust me I don't want to be near you either." I said.

"You two are the fastest-"

"Which why she should be anchor." I said.

"The slowest needs to be in the back-"

"The slowest should be in the middle, if they take too long to get the baton to either of us we will lose." Lotus said.

"Or they'll have too much of an advantage." I added.
