Song Kang

I looked out the window and blew raspberries earning a glance from Lotus. She pointing her pencil at me and smiled.

"Focus." She said.

I smiled and held my notebook showing the work was already done. The door opened before a staff member came in.

"I'm sorry to bother Ms.Kim, but I need to borrow Ms.Jones."

Won-Yung and I looked up at Lotus before she slowly got up.

"What's going on? Am I in trouble?" She asked grabbing her book bag.

"No, there are a few college scouts here to talk to you." He said.

"Oh, ok." She smiled.

I watched as she walked away and scratched my head.

"You think she'll choose the states?" Won-Yung asked.

"I hope not." I said.

"Me too, should we go ease drop?" He asked.

"How do you expect us to do that?" I asked.

"I have my ways." He smirked.

I sighed, knowing we were about to do something we weren't supposed to do.

Lotus Jones

I walked into the office before I slowly sat at the table. I scratched my head as I looked at the unfamiliar faces.

"Coach Min, what's going on?" I asked.

"Well Jones, these are college scouts from Duke and K.Uni." She said.

"Lotus Jones, I am Coach Smith. I've been watching you for a while." He said.

"I'm Coach Si, I seen your stats. Korea Uni would love to have you." She said.

I looked at Coach Min before he nodded.

"Um, so what do you guys have to offer?" I asked.

They both began speaking at the same time.

"One at a time please, let's hear from Duke." I said.

"Well Duke is a prestigious college, our track team is on but with you on it. It could be amazing, we're offering you a partial scholarship with room and board. For four years." He said.

"Korea is offering you a full athletic scholarship with room and board. You'll have access to text books, an unlimited library pass. K uni will offer you media training for if you want to go pro." She explained.

Coach Min looked at me and nodded. I scratched my head and sat back, Duke was prestigious. Getting a partial scholarship was a blessing but I needed a full scholarship.

Korea University is prestigious as well...I thought of my friends here in Korea and fiddled with my fingers.

"Hey Kiddo, you don't have to make a decision today." Coach Min said.
