Lotus Jones
I killed the engine of my car before getting out. I walked up the path way and before I could even knock Ms.Thomas answered. She smiled and embraced me in a hug before stepping aside.
"Hi Ms.Thomas." I said walking further into the house.
"Hi, Lilac is finishing up swim practice." She said.
"Oh I can come back later." I said pointing over my shoulder.
"Nonsense, come. I see you took down your hair." She said.
I touched my hair and smiled.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Do you know what you want this time?" She asked.
"I have the championship meet on the 1st, so something that'll last." I chuckled.
"Box braids again?" She asked.
I nodded.
"Small ones." I said.
She smiled and nodded.
"Do you want to eat before we start?" She asked.
"No, I'm fine." I said.
"Ok, I'll meet you in the living room." She said.
I nodded before walking into the living room, I looked around at Lilac's baby pictures and smiled. I picked up a photo and tilted my head, it was with Mrs.Thomas and Lilac beside a woman who looked exactly like Ms.Thomas.
"That's Lily." She said.
I looked over my shoulder at her and smiled.
"You guys look just alike." I said.
"Yeah, we're twins." She chuckled placing the hair tools onto the sofa.
She walked closer to me before taking the picture frame out of my hand. She looked at it and smiled.
"She passed away a few years ago, car accident." She said.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"She was a bitch...a evil person. She was still my sister though." She said.
"Wow." I said.
She placed the photo down and chuckled.
"Let's get started." She said.
I nodded before I sat in the chair, she rubbed her hands through my hair before she began.
"Are you ready for the championship?" She asked.
"Yeah. A little nervous the press will be there." I said.
"You'll be fine." She chuckled.
"I hope." I said.
"Any college plans?" She asked.
