Lotus Jones
I let out a breath as my leg shook with anticipation. We were finally fucking graduating...I wish my dad was here to see this. To see me walk across this stage to cheer me on.
"Valedictorian, Lotus Jones."
I stood up as the sound of applause hit my ears.
"GO LOTUS!" Mrs.Lee yelled.
I looked at her and couldn't help but to smile. Mr.Lee held a camera as he took pictures of me. Even though we didn't talk as much as we use to...they were here cheering me on.
I bowed to my teachers before embracing Ms.Thomas in a hug.
"Congratulation Lotus." She said.
"Thank you, for everything Ms.Thomas." I said pulling away.
I grabbed my diploma before walking to the podium. I looked over the crowd and blew out a breath.
"Um..hi." I chuckled.
"HI!" Won-Yung waved.
"Stop acting retarded." Lilac sighed grabbing his arm.
I chuckled and shook my head.
"I came to Korea...and found an unexpected group of friends. Who have been annoying but somewhat kind. I read something about...if you don't have a family, you make one. That's what I did with my friends, and they may be crazy...annoying...entitled-"
"Hey." Kang said.
I chuckled.
"But they're my friends...and without them I wouldn't have made it through school. So thank you..." I said.
"GO LOTUS!" Won-Yung yelled clapping his hands.
I smiled as I quickly walked off the stage. The ceremony continued before I slyly pulled out my phone.
Kang: After this I want to take you somewhere.
Me:Where?
Kang: It's a surprise.
I rolled my eyes and glanced at him to see him smiling. Once the ceremony was over we threw our caps and cheered.
"Lotus."
I looked over my shoulder to see Mrs.Lee. I let out a breath before walking toward her.
"Hi." I said.
"Hey Lottie." Mr.Lee smiled.
"Hey." I said.
"Congratulations." Mrs.Lee smiled.
"Thank you." I smiled.
She let out a breath and cupped my face.
"Theo would be so proud of you." She said.
