Chapter 11: I won't say I'm in Love.

Saturday morning, I woke up at 9, slid my training clothes on and headed for a run with Luke, I even brought Blue along. "Why do you train anyways ? You're a girl, you're fit enough.", Luke pointed out, I giggled, "Just because I have a good body doesn't mean I should care less about it, Luke.", I told him, "Why do you work out anyways ? You've had that good physique of yours since high school.", I teased, "I'm a guy, Rebs, its in our nature.", he joked.

We got to the same park we always go to in the morning for a little talk and some rest before we head back. We sat on the grass and just admired the city's half-skyline, and the ducks by the small lake. "You seemed pissed off during the Visual Clue gathering, what happened ?", he asked, I sighed, "After you and Hayden went to the bathroom, Thomas spoke to me about Kelsey, then in the middle of the conversation he kissed me.", I told him, "Why would he do that ?", he asked, "He said he didn't know what got to him, maybe because Kelsey is pushing him a bit too far now.", I assumed, "Don't let it get to you Rebs.", he said and he rubbed my arm. Those touches, the glares, the treatment, I never experienced them like that before. And it feels weird, I am actually liking the way he treats me, I'm not his girlfriend or even a crush probably, but its getting to me, 'Wake up Rebecca, you do not fall in love, it is not your thing.', my conscience rang in my head, its true, I can't fall in love after convincing so many people that I am not interested, besides, who would fall for me ? "What are you doing today ?", Luke asked, "I don't know, I don't go out much now, I don't feel like going out.", I admitted, "How about you come over and we have a movie night.", he suggested, "That's high school Luke.", I reminded him, "So ? We used to have fun during those, I'll order us pizza and we'll watch whatever that came out new.", he smiled, I looked at him with blankness written all over my face, "Come on Rebs.", he said, "Fine.", I sighed, "That's a good girl. ", he nudged my elbow, I giggled.

"What are we watching tonight ?", I asked Luke as he was setting up his laptop to his T.V., "Do you mind watching Big Hero 6 ?", he asked, I shook my head, "Alright.", he put the movie on and just before he could press play the doorbell rang, "Pizza right on time.", he smiled and went to get it.

(Lucas)

"Well this was-", I turned around to face Rebecca but she was fast asleep on her knuckles, I smiled at how adorable she looks. I couldn't lift her to her apartment right now because I am a clumsy person and its late, so I just let her rest on my laps like she did before. I got a blanket and I covered her up and I watched her sleep, "If only you know how much I love you Rebs.", I whispered and I continued watching her breath steadily. I've known Rebecca since second grade, we've been there for each other so many times, our parents knew each other and it was okay for us to have sleepovers or hangouts at each others' houses but for others it seemed like we were going to get married at some point, which I wish would happen but she gets pissed off at the thought of dating so how about if you propose to her. I removed a few of her hair locks away from her face and I removed some away from her ear, I bent down close to her ear, "I love you Rebs.", I whispered.

"Luke.", someone whispered, I also felt like someone was shaking me slowly, "Luke wake up.", I open my eyes and I see Rebecca waking me up, "What is it ?", I yawned, "Get up, we overslept.", she said, "Its weekend Rebs, go back to sleep.", I sleepily pushed her head down on a pillow nearby and I laid down on the couch properly, "Luke get up and do something productive like you always do.", she said, "Its Sunday Rebecca, Sunday is a day off for me from everything.", I told her, "So you just sleep in on Sunday ? You don't go out ?", she asked, I shook my head, "I do some grocery shopping for dinner, I cook it, I watch a good movie, then sleep on the couch.", I told her, my eyes were still closed, I was literally half-asleep and she is talking to me, "Do you ever sleep in your room ?", she asked, "I cleaned my room 2 days ago along with my bed and its still the same.", I yawned, "You want to try cooking with me tonight ?", I asked, "I'm a bad cook, I can barely be able to make grilled chicken without messing it up.", she retorted, "Don't worry, Chef Lucas will teach you.", I smiled lightly, she giggled, its nice to hear her cute giggling in the morning like this, "What time is it ?", I asked her, "10 am.", she said, "Good, I have 2 more hours of sleep.", I said, I was being serious right now, on Sundays, I sleep until 12 pm, get up, do whatever there is to do around the house, then at night I go shopping for groceries and I cook. Its a different meal every night. "Get up you lazy-butt.", she nudged me, "Sleep Rebs.", I pulled her into me and I wrapped my arms around her, "Lucas.", she yammered then she removed my arms from around her, I chuckled and I felt her smile. God, can yesterday repeat itself ?

(Rebecca)

Luke finally got up and got dressed properly, we spent the whole day in his apartment, we watched 2 movies, he had a Snakes and Ladder game which we played for almost and hour and a half non-stop, we sat down and talked about things, even though we talk allot, he even tested my psychiatric abilities to understand him, we played 21 questions, it was a fun day. And I am trying so hard not to give in to emotions, I do not intend to fall in love, he is my best friend and I don't want to lose him.

It was 6 pm now, we were in a nearby grocery store buying ingredients for whatever surprise Luke has in store for a dinner.

We got back to his apartment and he set everything up, we set the table first and then we headed to his kitchen, "What are you going to do Chef Lucas ?", I asked, "Grilled chicken, bell-pepper, and mashed potatoes.", he said, "Sounds good.", I told him, "And indeed it is Rebs.", he winked, "You can cut the peppers while I wash the chicken.", he said, "Okay.", I took out a knife and I starting cutting the bell-peppers, Blue was sitting in the kitchen with us with his head tilted and his attempt to lure us to give him something, "Don't worry Blue, you'll get your meal tonight too.", Luke bent down to Blue's level and he started playing with him, Blue just played along licking his face and sniffing him, "How about you take my dog Luke, huh ?", I joked, "I wish.", he kept playing with Blue's face and laughing.

We were done preparing the food now we just have to wait for it to heat up. "You want to do something for the few minutes there is before we eat ?", asked Luke, "What do you want to do ?", I asked, he got up and went to his CD player and put on some track and Chris Brown's Forever started playing, "Can I have this dance Rebs ?", he bowed down and offered his hand, "Luke, no, I don't dance anymore.", I told him, he started dancing and singing along with it, "Come on Rebs.", he said, "I told you I don't do it anymore.", I couldn't help but giggle, "Fine, Blue, come here.", Blue walked to him and he grabbed his paw and started dancing with him, Blue let go and started jumping around us and pulling me towards him, not my dog too, Luke pulled me in close and started dancing with me, "Lucas!", I giggled, "Come on Rebs, I know you didn't forget the dance moves.", he started dancing along with me, "Please ?", he asked, I rolled my eyes and I started dancing to it, "That's it Rebs!", he twirled me and lifted me up at some points, Blue would jump around us cheerfully. Luke was lip-syncing to me like he did in high school, we made up some dance moves during high school for some show that we won, "Sing it Rebs.", he said, we started singing along with the song and dancing.

By the end of the song he tripped and pulled me with him with caused our lips to crash. I went wide-eyed and so did he, I backed off, "I'm sorry.", he said quickly, he got up and helped me up later, "Please tell me this was an accident.", I told him, "Sorry, this part of the floor is kind of cracked so I trip a few times here.", he said, "Why don't you fix it ?", I asked, "I keep forgetting, don't worry though I called someone yesterday for it.", he said, "Sorry, again, I didn't mean to.", he said, "Its okay.", this was really awkward.

We finished eating and I had to head back to my apartment, "Thanks for the night Luke.", I told him, "We're doing it again Rebs.", he winked, I smiled and I left with Blue.

I got to my apartment and I rest on my couch for a minute, that accidental kiss, the vision of it still replays in my mind and it was like I was seeing the ghost of me and Luke fall and accidentally kiss, I shook my head, "Don't think of it Rebecca, you are not in love.", I whispered to myself and I headed inside to shower then sleep.
