Y/N's POV

I felt a strange mix of emotions as Draco and I walked out of Professor Snape's office. The weight of his warnings lingered in the air, but the silver locket in my hand was a bittersweet comfort. It felt like a connection to my mother, a reminder of her strength—and, perhaps, of Snape's peculiar way of trying to protect us.

As we reached the quieter corridors, I handed the locket to Draco, smiling softly. "Can you help me put it on?"

He nodded, carefully unclasping it. His hands brushed against my neck as he fastened the chain, sending a familiar warmth through me. "It suits you," he said quietly, his voice almost tender.

I turned to him, smiling. "Thank you. For everything."

What we didn't realize was that we weren't alone.

Harry's POV

Ron, Hermione, and I had just turned the corner when we saw them—Y/N and Malfoy. My stomach churned. They were too close, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing: Malfoy fastening a locket around Y/N's neck with an intimacy that made my blood boil.

"What the bloody hell is going on?" Ron muttered, his voice low but sharp.

I didn't wait to hear Hermione's response. Fury drove me forward.

Y/N's POV

"Y/N!" Harry's voice cut through the corridor like a curse.

I froze, spinning around to see my brother storming toward us with Ron and Hermione close behind. His face was a mixture of anger and disbelief.

"What is this?" he demanded, his eyes darting between me and Draco. "What are you doing with him again?"

"Harry, I can explain—" I began, but he wasn't listening.

"You've been sneaking around with Malfoy, haven't you?" he snapped, his voice rising. "Is this why you've been lying to me?"

"I wasn't lying," I said, my voice trembling.

Harry's gaze fell to the locket around my neck, his face darkening. Without warning, he reached out and yanked it off.

"No!" I cried, reaching for it, but he held it out of my reach.

"What is this? Some kind of trophy?" he snarled, glaring at Draco.

"Give it back!" I shouted, tears welling in my eyes.

Harry's response was to throw the locket to the ground. The sound of it hitting the stone floor echoed painfully in my ears.

I stared at him in shock, my chest tightening. "How could you?" I whispered, my voice breaking.

"Stay away from her," Harry said to Draco, his tone deadly. Then, without another word, he turned and walked away, dragging Ron and Hermione with him.

I couldn't bear to stay there a second longer. I turned and ran, my vision blurred by tears, leaving Draco standing in the hallway.

Draco's POV

I stood frozen for a moment, the sound of Y/N's footsteps fading down the corridor. Potter's words still rang in my ears, but my focus was on the broken locket lying on the floor.

I bent down and picked it up carefully. The chain was snapped, and the silver pendant was scratched, but it could be fixed.

My hands shook as I held it. Snape's warnings, My father's threats—they all felt distant now. The only thing that mattered was Y/N and the pain I had seen in her eyes.

"She deserves better than this," I muttered to myself.

Without wasting another moment, I turned and headed to the Slytherin common room. I had to fix the locket. For her.

Harry's POV

I couldn't shake the image of Y/N and Malfoy at the Astronomy Tower. It didn't make sense. How could she—my sister—be with him of all people?

"She's your sister, mate," Ron said, breaking the silence. "She'll come around."

Hermione, however, looked troubled. "Harry, maybe we should talk to her. Throwing that locket—it wasn't right."

I shook my head. "She's not thinking clearly, Hermione. Someone has to protect her from herself."

Even as I said the words, doubt crept into my mind. But I shoved it aside. I couldn't let her throw her life away on someone like Malfoy.

Draco's POV

The common room was empty when I arrived, the firelight casting flickering shadows on the walls. I sat at a table and pulled out my wand, carefully repairing the broken chain and smoothing out the scratches on the pendant.

As the locket gleamed under the light once more, I felt a strange sense of resolve.

I would find Y/N. And I would make this right.
