Mia's POV

Two years felt like a lifetime, but finally, the day I'd been waiting for was here. Marcus was coming home. I stood outside the prison gates, my heart racing with a mix of excitement and nerves.

When he walked out, dressed in plain clothes but still carrying that same intensity in his eyes, I couldn't stop the tears. He looked at me and froze for a moment, as if he wasn't sure I was real.

I took a shaky step forward. "Marcus..."

He closed the distance between us in seconds, pulling me into a tight hug. I could feel the tension leaving his body as he held me like he never wanted to let go.

"I missed you," he whispered, his voice cracking. "Every single day."

"I missed you too," I replied, tears streaming down my face. "It was so hard without you."

He pulled back just enough to look into my eyes. "Mia, I don't want to waste any more time. I love you. I've loved you for so long, and I can't imagine my life without you."

My heart skipped a beat as I stared at him, seeing the vulnerability in his eyes. "I love you too, Marcus. I always have."

Marcus's POV

Hearing her say those words felt like everything I'd ever fought for finally made sense. I cupped her face in my hands, brushing away her tears. "I'll never let anyone or anything come between us again. You're my home, Mia."

We walked away from the prison hand in hand, leaving behind the shadows of the past. For the first time in years, I felt hope-real, unshakable hope.

Mia's POV

Life didn't magically become perfect, but with Marcus by my side, I felt like I could face anything. We moved into a small apartment together, starting over, piece by piece.

Marcus took up a job at a security firm, and I returned to my company. Our days were simple but filled with moments that reminded me why we fought so hard to be together.

One evening, as we sat on the balcony watching the sunset, Marcus took my hand. "Thank you, Mia. For waiting for me, for believing in me, and for loving me even when I didn't deserve it."

I smiled, leaning my head on his shoulder. "You deserve all the love in the world, Marcus. And I'm not going anywhere."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we sat there in silence, knowing that no matter what challenges came our way, we'd face them together.

The End.
