Friendship or Relationship?

She pulled out a small envelope from her coat pocket and handed it to me. "I found this in Marcus's room after the police left. They didn't care about it, but I think it's important."

I hesitated for a moment before opening it. Inside was a torn photograph with a strange symbol on the back. My heart raced. "What is this?" I whispered, my mind spinning with questions.

"I don't know," she said softly, "but I think it has something to do with why Marcus was killed."

For the next three days, I investigated extensively, going through Marcus's dorm and his books, but i couldn't find the other half of the photo. While searching through the books, I came across Marcus's secret diary. I didn't want to read it, but I had no other option. I took the book and put it in my bag.

Helen wasn't very helpful; she wouldn't let me touch Marcus's closet or his office room in the dorm.

It was strange of her to act this way after asking for my help.

On the other hand, Claire was very concerned about my behavior at work. She seemed suspicious, but I pretended that everything was okay.

At night, while I was having dinner, Ellie came to my dorm asking for a portable charger. I decided to make her my friend to learn more about her relationship with Marcus. We started talking frequently and even exchanged contact information. The next day, I took the opportunity to visit her dorm by asking for her help with a dress.

When i visited Ellie's dorm, i noticed several photos of Ellie, Marcus, and Mark displayed around the room. As i looked through the pictures, i learned about the close friendship between the three. I discovered that Ellie and Mark are in a relationship, while Marcus has feelings for Ellie. This revelation explains the tension i overheard between Marcus and Mark. It turns out that Mark found out about Marcus's feelings for Ellie, leading to a confrontation between the two in the mart that day.

Maybe I am too dumb, but I ended up telling Ellie everything I overheard that day in the elevator between her and Mark. I also mentioned to Ellie that Helen had come to me asking for help. Ellie gasped at the thought of me suspecting her and Mark as being involved in Marcus's murder. Regarding Helen, Ellie didn't say much but asked me not to help her.
I stayed silent.
