Too soon to say perfect?

I woke up when I felt Jake stir behind me. His warm breath on my neck sent shivers down my spine.

"Did I wake you up?" He asked groggily.

"No" I lied, pulling his arms further round me and snuggling into him.

"Sleep well?" He asked.

"Great" I replied. It was true; Jake was like my own personal dream catcher. I rolled over so we were face to face and placed both of my hands on his now bare chest.

"I got warm" he justified. His shirt lay in a crumpled pile on the armchair we sat on earlier. I shifted so I was laying beside him and rested my head on his chest. He brushed his hand through my hair before gently kissing my forehead.

"Do you wanna talk now?" He asked, his lips still pressed against my head.

"I don't know what I'm doing" I sighed.

"What?" He asked pulling me closer into him and looking straight into my eyes.

"I don't know if I can go back" I confessed.

"Home?" He asked looking worried.

"I want to stay" I almost cried.

"I want you to stay too" he almost laughed.

"I don't know what to do Jake" my voice broke and I had to bury myself into him to stop from crying.

"Hey, hey" he said softly stroking my hair. "Tell me what's wrong and I promise; I'll do whatever the hell I can to help you"

"Really" I said, my voice muffled by his chest.

"That's what boyfriends do isn't it?" He smiled. I smiled and took a deep breath before beginning.

"I don't talk to my parents, I haven't seen the rest of my family in years and the girl I was at the concert with is my only friend in the world" I sighed. "I can't go home because I have nowhere to go"

Jake didn't reply. Instead he pulled me even closer into him and held me tight. I cried into him and he stroked my hair and buried his face next to mine.

"It's ok" he whispered over and over. I composed myself and looked up at him.

"Thanks" I whispered.

"No problem" he replied and pulled me into him, his lips connecting softly with mine. He pulled away slowly. I kept my eyes closed and breathed out.

"I love you" the words were out of my mouth before I could even register what I was saying. I realised though that it was true. "For helping me. You're amazing and I can't describe how good you make me feel. There aren't many people in my life right now who can make me feel like that."

There was a moments silence.

"You don't have to say it back" I said after a while. "I just thought you should know"

"Skye" he whispered.

"Yeah?"

"I love you too"
