*The Next Day*
*Ashlee's POV*
I woke up and did my normal routine before going to school. I checked my phone and saw a message from Austin.
From: Austin
Good morning, beautiful. :)
I smiled at the text. Then I thought, stop it Ashlee. He's only pretending to like you. Don't believe him. I ended up replying anyways.
To: Austin
Good morning :)
I pressed send and went to grab a shower. I got out later and got dressed and went downstairs.
"Morning, sweetie. Sleep well?"
"Surprisingly, yes."
"Did you dream about him?"
"Who?"
"Austin?"
"What? No! No way! Why would I dream about Austin? That's just weird."
"Ashlee?"
"Ok, I had a dream about him. It was just weird, though. We were going on a date, and then somehow, it went into the future, and we were getting married. Do you think it means something?"
"I don't know. Maybe."
"Maybe!? Mom, Austin is the school's player. He treats girls horribly. Just imagine if he dated me. He would pretend to like me, then break my heart."
"Ashlee, I know this. You've told me. Maybe he'll change, though. It seems like he really likes you."
"Mom, how can you say that? So, I had this dream about him, and you automatically think it means something?"
"I'm sorry, Ashlee. It just does. He seems like a nice boy."
"Well, if we start dating, don't bother to help cheer me up if he hurts me."
"So, you're saying you're going to date him?"
"I don't know anything anymore. I'm late. I have to go."
"Both of them like each other. They just won't admit it."
"What was that, mom?"
"Nothing, sweetie. Go on or you'll get in trouble."
"I probably already am. Bye."
Something's up with mom. Does she really think I like Austin? Hell no. Well maybe. I don't know.
*School*
"Heather, if you had a dream about someone, would that mean you like them?"
"I don't know. Why? Wait, please don't tell me you had a dream about Austin."
"Umm..."
"Ashlee! If you dream about someone, it means they're thinking about you. Were you thinking about him last night?"
"Maybe."
"Ashlee!"
"I'm sorry! It's just, I think he's actually changing. I kinda like it."
"You can't like him! Hello?! Player! No dating Austin!"
"You can't tell me what to do! What if I wanna date him?"
"Then good luck with that. Just don't come crying to me when he breaks your heart."
"Fine! I won't!"
"Fine!"
Then she left. I can't believe I just had my first fight with Heather. She's my best friend. We've never fought. Never. Now I feel horrible.
"Ashlee, are you ok?"
Austin came up and asked me. I just started crying and ran to hug him and silently cried in his chest.
"Shh. It's ok. It'll be alright. What happened?"
"I don't know if I wanna tell you."
"C'mon. You can tell me anything."
"Ok. This may take a while."
"I got time."
I told him everything. From this morning to right now. He just sat there shocked and sad.
"I can't believe it. Ashlee, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault."
"Don't be sorry. I'll deal with it."
"No you won't. I can help you with this."
"How? Heather still hates you. My mom probably hates me for yelling at her. What am I gonna do?"
"You can do this. Trust me. Everything's gonna be alright."
He hugged me and we went back to class. I didn't talk to Heather the rest of the day, even though I feel bad. I still didn't. I ignored my mom when I got home and went straight to my room and texted Austin.
T: Austin(:
Hey ):
I got a reply way too soon.
F: Austin(:

T: Austin(:

F: Austin(:

I hit send and started going downstairs to my mom and talk to her. This wasn't gonna be easy. But it was gonna be a lot harder on Heather. Here goes nothing.
