Chapter 12

*Flashback*

"Ashlee, I didn't mean it. I-"

"Save it! I'm done messing with you! Just leave me alone."

*End Flashback*

I began walking off to my class when Austin grabbed my arm and turned me around and kissed me. I pushed him off.

"What the heck were you thinking? Kissing me would make everything better? Obviously not. I don't want anything to do with you right now. Just go away."

"Ashlee.."

"I said go away! I don't want to talk to you again!"

I stormed off leaving him stranded in the hallway. I didn't care about him right now or that I was really late to class. I decided on skipping and left since it was my last class. I really needed some money so I went out looking for a job. I looked everywhere around town for one and finally found one at a mexican restaurant called El Agave. Not too far from my house, which was good. I got the time for my shift and I didn't have to start until later tonight. I went back home and luckily, my mom wasn't home, so she wouldn't wonder why I was home early. I took a quick shower and by the time I got out, school should've been out by now. I changed into comfortable clothes and went downstairs and saw Heather parked outside. I unlocked the door so she could get in.

"Where were you last period?"

"Skipped."

"Why?"

"Because Austin decided to mess with me and we got in a fight and he kissed me. Blah blah blah."

"Wait, he kissed you?"

"Yeah. He was all mad I was flirting with his brother and he kissed me but I pushed him off."

"So you skipped because you got in a fight?"

"I was already really late anyways. But I got a job."

"Where?"

"El Agave. I got to work tonight."

"Oh that's perfect. Cody was gonna take me there tonight."

"Nice."

"Yeah."

"Wait, isn't it your one year anniversary with him?"

"That's why."

"Hey, congrats girl."

"Thanks. I gotta go get ready. See ya later girl."

"See ya."

*Few hours later*

I was at work and ready to get started. I had to wait tables and get food to people. I kept watching for Heather to see when she came in, but I haven't seen her yet. But it is kinda early. I was cleaning some stuff off a table when I heard the door open and I looked up and saw Austin. With Samantha. Could this night get worse? I went back into the kitchen and came back out when they sat down and just my luck. I was their waitress. I walked up to them.

"Welcome to El Agave. I'll be your waitress-"

"Ashlee."

"Yes. I'll be your waitress tonight. What can I get you guys to drink?"

"You work here?"

"Yes Austin. I got this job today. Can you just answer my question?"

"Fine. Sweet tea for both of us."

"Ok. I'll be back."

I walked off to the kitchen and sighed. This is just not my day. I got their drinks and walked back and saw Heather walk in with Cody. She saw me then Austin and Samantha. I set them down and went to Heather's table as she sat down.

"What is he doing here with her?"

"Same question I wanna know the answer to. Just my luck its this night they come when I'm working."

"Sorry girl."

"I'll try and handle it. I don't wanna complain to you on your anniversary."

I took their orders and went back then came back out seeing Austin stare at me. What the heck is he doing? He has a date with him. I swear, he's changed back and now I can't stand him again. Rolling my eyes, I walked to Heather's table getting their food orders then gave it to the chef and got Austin's table's order and walked out. I walked over to the table with a small smile.

"Here's your food. Enjoy."

"Wait, Ashlee."

"What?"

He handed me a slip of paper, which I took and opened it to find it saying: 'I think we need to talk again. Please. Meet me in the park after your shift.' -A

What do I do? Do I go or completely blow him off? I'll have to decide later. I did some more tables and Austin stood up paying then looked back at me and smirked then walked out. He is so complicated. I don't know what to do. I can't ask Heather because I don't wanna interrupt. I just let them be and went with my decision of talking to him after my shift.

After my shift was over, I walked out of the restaurant and headed to the park. When I got there, I saw Austin sitting on bench. I slowly approached him and sat beside him.

"You actually came."

"You thought I wouldn't?"

"Kinda."

"What did you want to talk about?"

"Ok, so you know Samantha right?"

"Of course."

"I've been using her."

"Never thought of that." *Note sarcasm*

"Ashlee."

"Sorry."

"Well I have. I was doing it to make you jealous because I do really love you Ashlee and I want another chance. Please."

"Umm... I don't know Austin."

"Ashlee, I promise I won't mess up this time. It was just a mistake."

"Sure. So you just 'accidentally' kissed Samantha in the park?"

"No, but I promise I didn't mean it."

"Then why were you with her tonight?"

"To explain what I did and I broke up with her. For you."

"Me?"

"Yeah. Please Ashlee?"

"....."
