*Heather's POV*

'I can't believe they're making Ashlee tutor that jerk. He should just fail and get kicked off the team.' I thought as Ashlee walked up.

"Hey girl. How was detention with king of the jerks?"

"Actually, it went better than I thought."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. Ok, so I'm reading The Notebook when he walks in and says some cheesy comment on it, and then he says he likes romance novels!"

"Austin James likes love stories? Wow, I didn't expect that."

"I know that's what I said. Then, he started apologizing for everything. Literally. And, he said he'd leave his player image if I gave him a chance."

"What'd you say to that?"

"I said I'd think about it."

"Girl, you shouldn't have done that. He'll just leave you if you do give him a chance."

I said as my boyfriend, Cody, came up to us.

"Hey babe. Hey Ashlee. What's up?"

"Austin told Ashlee he'd leave his player image if she gave him a chance with him."

"I don't think you should give him a chance, Ashlee. I think it's a bad idea."

"See? Even my own boyfriend thinks it's not a good idea for you to do this."

*Austin's POV*

I was walking with my mates when I overheard Ashlee talking to her friends.

"Look guys, I didn't say I was going to. Did you actually think I was gonna give him a chance with me?"

What she said hurt me. She wasn't gonna give me a chance. Should I just give up on her? No, Austin. Remember the plan. Lose your player image, get Ashlee Brooke Taylor.

*Ashlee's POV*

"Did you actually think I was gonna give him a chance?"

"Well, a little. But I guess we were wrong. Sorry, girl."

"It's ok. I forgive you. But what should I do?"

"Go through the tutoring thing. Then decide what you wanna do about him if his player image has left."

"Woah. What does she mean 'tutoring thing' Ashlee?" Cody asked.

"Ashlee has to tutor him until he can pull his grades up."

"Yeah. And they made me do it just cuz I have the highest grade in class."

"Wow. That sucks."

"I know. But, I just wanna get this over with. Well, I guess I'll be goin-"

*BELL RANG*

"Thank goodness! Today is over with! I'll see you guys later. Bye!"

"Bye!"

*WALKING HOME*

I was walking home from a stressful day of school, when someone came up behind me.

"Hey, beautiful. "

I turned around, and it was Austin.

"Austin, we're not starting until tomorrow."

"I know. I thought we should start early. So I'll have more time and be prepared for the test."

"Ugh! Fine. But like you promised, work and no play. And especially no flirting."

"Got it."

I just don't seem to believe him. He's gonna try and flirt with me I just know it. I need to text Heather.

To: Heather(:

hey I need you at my house. Austin's coming over. help!

I sent it and got a reply almost too soon.

From: Heather(:

Ok girl. I'll b thr in a few

In a few?! I need her! She has to help keep Austin from doing anything. Then I got another text from her.

From: Heather(:

hey gurl. sry, but my car ain't working. sorry I can't come and Cody is using his car right now and my parents are gone for a while.

What am I gonna do?

"Ashlee?"

"What?"

"You zoned out. I was making sure you were ok there."

"Yeah. I'm fine. Sorry."

"It's ok. So is this your house?" He asked as we walked up.

"Yeah. This is it."

I grabbed the key and unlocked the door and went inside.

"Mom! I'm home!"

"Hello, Ashlee. How was school?"

"Umm.. good."

"That's good. So later, can you help me with- oh! Who's this?"

"Mom, this is Austin James. I have to tutor him."

"Why?"

"Because sadly, he's failing geometry and I have to help him."

"Oh! Well it's nice to meet you, Austin."

"You too, Mrs. Taylor."

"Ashlee, there's snacks in the kitchen if you need it!"

"Ok thanks mom!"

We headed upstairs to my bedroom and we both sat down on the edge of the bed.

"So, should we get started?"

"Yeah. I guess."

*2 Hours Later*

"Ugh! This is boring! Can we stop, Ashlee?"

"We're almost done, Austin. Don't worry. How about we take a break?"

"Thank you! I am tired of seeing math problems. Everywhere I look there are numbers.

I laughed and smiled at him, then looked away.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing."

"Ok."

We finished up later after snacks from my mom and then Austin was packing up his books in my room.

"Thanks for helping, Ashlee. I think it really helped."

"You're welcome. But we're not done yet. You still have to pull up your grades."

"I know. But im ready for that test, though."

"Maybe you'll do really good."

"I hope."

We walked downstairs and we were both standing at the door.

"Guess I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah."

"Bye."

"Bye."

I went straight back to my room and laid on my bed. I thought that wasn't as bad as I thought. Surprisingly, he didn't flirt with me. Just have to keep going. I stayed in my bed until sleep took over me.
