*Ashlee's POV*
--Next Day--
I got up and quickly changed and went to school. I walked in and saw people staring at me. Did they all find out about what happened? I hope not. I went to my locker and I saw Heather just give me a glare. I turned around and saw a new girl beside me. I just got an idea.
"Hey, you must be the new girl."
"Yeah. I'm Samantha. I just moved here."
"Cool. I'm Ashlee. How about I show you around?"
"Sounds great. Thanks."
"No problem."
I turned around and saw Heather and she looked jealous. It's working. Just keep going.
"How about after school we can hang out?"
"Sure. Just one question."
"Ok."
"Who's the guy over there in the football jersey?"
She pointed to someone and I looked over and she was pointing at Austin. He was looking over here and I wanted to know why.
"Um, that's Austin James. He's the captain of the team. Why?"
"He keeps staring at me. Its uncomfortable. I guess he's the guy in school who likes to play with girls?"
"Um.. yeah basically. I wouldn't mess with him."
"Ok."
I showed Samantha around for a while until she learned her way around. It was making me jealous knowing Austin was staring at her. I went to geometry and Samantha was sitting in my seat by Austin.
"Hey, Samantha. Sorry, but you're sitting in my seat."
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know. Austin told me to sit here."
I looked over at him and he looked away. I rolled my eyes and walked to the back. I told him we should just take a break. I didn't mean 'break up so you can hit on girls again'. He's starting to annoy me right now. I'm gonna talk to him after class.
************
After geometry was over, I got up and walked up to Austin.
"Austin, I think we need to talk."
"About what?"
"About why you're flirting and hitting on girls after what happened yesterday. Did you tell anyone about it?"
"No."
"Really?"
"Ok, maybe. But I didn't tell anyone but a couple of my friends."
"Then how is it around the whole school?"
"I don't know."
"Ok, forget that. Why are you hitting on my new friend?"
"I'm not."
"You told her to sit in my seat and you were staring at her earlier. I saw it."
"Maybe I just wanted to be nice."
"Like that's possible."
"You think I can't be?"
"I didn't say that."
"Ok fine. Dont believe me."
"Austin I-"
"Nevermind. Forget it. I wasn't trying anything on her."
"Fine. If you say so."
"I only like you, Ashlee."
"I like you, too. But, I still need time."
"Take as much time as you need."
"Ok. See ya."
He left and I went to my locker. I haven't seen Heather around much today except for earlier. She must've left. After school, I drove home and went up to my room to find Heather standing in there.
"Heather? What-"
"What the hell was that about today? Making me jealous by finding another friend?! I can't believe you!"
"I'm sorry! I'm just really confused right now and I dont know what to do."
"And the fact that Austin was definitely checking out the new girl right in front of you."
"I know. I talked to him about it, but he kept lying saying he wasn't."
"It'll come out soon. I know it. Don't be coming to me when you found out though."
She walked out after that. I can't believe all that's going on right now. What am I gonna do? I've got to figure everything out as soon as possible. He ruined everything.
