Both of them were a drunken mess that night.
Kai was 2x more unhinged, mumbling about her boring uni life and saying 'I love you' more than a thousand times.
That wasn't surprising to the past me. Dumb I know.
But... Aadhvita. Oh my god.
I still remember laughing so hard that night.
She didn't tell anything I didn't know about, like her strict father, how her mother and father used to balance each other, how she never had a boyfriend and how she is enjoying her life here, but what I found most amusing was her lost composure.
She was so out of it, giggling and hiccuping.
And with her, Kai.
We still played truth or dare and chatted.
I enjoyed it even more as they were both out of their senses.
Kai laid on my lap and Aadhvita was leaning on my shoulder.
I glanced at the clock, 23.55.
Five more minutes to 2019.
Kai was out like a light and I felt Aadhvita drifting off to. She was nuzzling her face further into my neck and my face became cherry red.
She is so close...
The urge to just kiss her forehead was on peaks.
I just sat there with two maniacs, one on my lap and the other on my shoulder.
I smiled to myself, content, that I had two of the most best girls as my friends, even though I wanted one of them as my girlfriend.
3... 2.... 1...
"Happy Birthday, Miss chaos and happy new year", I said chuckling even though I knew she was fast asleep.
I turned to the side, "Happy New year", I said smiling as I looked at her sleeping form.
Three of us had our birthdays in the same month, kind of exhilarating, ain't it?
Okay... Now what? I can't really sleep like this...
I gently lifted Aadhvita's head from my shoulder and made it loll on the couch.
Then, I lifted Kai up in a sitting position and made her get up with me.
"Mmnnn... Sleep...", She mumbled.
"Of course..", I said rolling my eyes playfully as I walked towards her bedroom.
I gently laid her down on bed, I bet she didn't even feel like she was walking.
I turned around to bring Aadhvita and got startled when I saw her behind me.
"You left me...", she said pouting.
"Huh?", Yeah she was very out of it.
"You left me... Behind.. couch."
"I was coming for you"
"No you didn't!", she grabbed my wrist, pushing me onto the bed.
My body hit the soft mattress and her face was in my neck.
My cheeks got heated up again.
"Aadh- Aadhvita...", I said shakily.
"Mmh..?", she lifted her head, "what..? You don't like me being close to you?", her words were slurring.
"It's not that... You are just drunk"
"So what!?", she leaned in close to my face.
Shit...
"Aadhvita just—"
"Shh..", she cut me off putting a finger on my lips.
She was so close, so close...
I can feel her breath on my face, she was reeking of beer and it was mixed her sandalwood perfume.
Her chest was pressed up against mine and I was losing my composure.
I was a blushing mess.
"Do it when you are sober", I said firmly.
"Mm..?", she asked tilting her head.
"Show this boldness when you are sober, not now"
"Why not...?", she asked pouting.
"Because...", I grabbed her arms gently and pushed her off of me and gently laid her down, "...you are drunk", I said my face close to hers, as I looked down at her.
Her face was flushed due to alcohol and she hiccupped, "You are... so beautiful...", she said cupping my cheeks.
I Chuckled, blushing, "You are adorable, you know that...?"
She shook her head.
"Okay fine... Sleep now yeah?", I said pulling myself back.
Soon enough, she was out too.
They are going to have a major hangover tomorrow.
